You won't find a better coach on the market than Adelman

RA is a great coach discovering talents and develop them. I love JVG, but one problem with JVG is that he needs vet players to be successful. No team in this league can be as successful w/o their highest paid player( maybe except boston w/o garnett) as us. RA knows how to use his players, getting everything out of relatively unknown players. Wafer, Landry, AB, Lowry, Landry, these guys are probably won't see many minutes under JVG, but RA manage to make use out of them.

But the fact that AD is a good coach is nearly self-evident, which makes Adelman appreciation threads unnecessary

 

if Van Gundy were here, Ron Artest and Von Wafer would be in his doghouse as soon as they took a bad shot. every play would be dump it into Yao and everyone else stand around. we'd probably set a record for the least amount of players to score in a playoff game. oh wait we already did!

 

I remember our bench went 0-32 one time against UTAH in the first playoff meeting is that the same game?

Not only that the roster would be very different.

JVG going into a season with Chuck Hayes and two rookie PFs who were both second round picks and of one them being an Euro... That wouldn't happen.

The Rockets would have used their assets to trade for a starting vet PF.
