103 post buddy. What does that make you? A veteran? Yao missed alot of shots. But he also keeped us in the 1st half. He grabbed rebounds, block some shots, intimitated guys from going inside to score. Its fustrating watching the rockets play basketball. The point guards have no clue sometimes ( Cutino & francis, moochie just plain old SUCKS ). On one accasion on a fast break off of a steal Francis refused to passed the ball to Boki for an easy layup, but no he took upon himself to score which ended up being a turn-over. Cutino DEFINITELY has to GO. I cant say the word TRADE fast enough. He plays stupid baskbetball, refuses to pass the ball to Yao Ming and jacks up to many bonehead premature shots. As a team we cant rely on 20 foot jump shots to win a game. TRADE HIM NOW!!!
I said it numourous times, and I will say it once more. We need a true point guard to remove the rust off this Rockets machine. Well, hold it before you label me as a Steve-hater. By doing this, we will have steve play the shooting position where he belongs to will shine as a real star. Otherwise, this team is going nowhere and our so-called stars are going to dim out soon with time passing by. If you still don't believe it, just look arround the league and tell me which team is playing worse than Houston. Some teams don't win just because they don't have talents, and that doesn't mean they play worse. While Rockets has talents but doesn't make good plays. We simply need a true point guard! That's it. Don't blame Yao, don't blame Steve, don't blame Mobley! It's simply that we are still missing one key piece of the puzzle.
Agreed. A backup veteran PG would be fine. A backup veteran PG can calm the team down when things do not go well as expected. If Rox still plays like this, scared, panic, facing a zone defense, patience will be very thin. Sooner or later, something has to be done.
Exactly my way of thinking- Let Francis be the starting Shgooting Guard, Mobley the 6th.man and we get us a decent passing Playmaker. JVG will fix everything in time now that he has experienced the up and the downs of the Rockets Game play.
For this to happen two thing mustr be in place:- a] The Coach JVG must demand it from him. b] Our Guards must agree to it by word and in practice. Yao Ming will never lead the Rockets, because he believes that he has a subordinate role to play.Only when the Team demands it will Yao Ming come to the fore.
i will bet 100 dollars that if yao was on any other team he would still have the same problems. even if you pass him the ball on those rare cases that he is in good position, he is too timid and SLOW to dunk the ball. he usually has to shuffle his feet/dribble and then turns the ball over or gets the ball blocked/stripped. he is a good player FOR HIS SIZE, but what seperaes him from hakeem and other great centers is his footwork. he is not as good as everyone first thought, they were just dazzled that he wasn't as awful as other guys 7'5''. he is good, but not great. and chill! damn, we lost to one of the top3 teams in the league. it happens.
our guards did look lost last nite. c mobs is a selfish, only passes when he cant shoot right away. he didnt even try looking for the open man. yao has to be alot more aggressive. so whats new?
Stevie Fancy and Cutturnover Mobley are the two worst basketball players in the history of mankind, past and present. They're soooooo unbelievably bad, they're also the worst players in animalkind, alienkind, and inanimate object-kind, too.
Man, that's bullcrap! Yao Ming is the worst player to ever step foot on a basketball court. STFU, stupid stupid stupid n00b!
Stop bashing newbies. This is just one stinking game. If someone feels that they have a point to mention, then mention it. That's why the bbs was invented - As an open forum. Not so people that have posted over a thousnd times can say that their $hit doesn't stink. Some of you are just pissed, because the team lost and your just looking for easy targets. I'm mad too, but then I can't stand the Mavericks anyway. I chalk it up as learning experience that will eventually allow us to dominate them later. Have patience.
It's not about newbies. It's about starting redundant threads (generally containing excessive hyperbole and overreaction) about topics that are being discussed ad nauseum in other threads. No matter how long you've been here or how much you post, that is not a good idea. Why do we need multiple "it's the guards fault" threads running at once? Answer: We don't. That's not a pro-Yao-anti-Steve issue, it's a common sense issue. It sounds high handed of me to say this, and probably it is, but that doesn't make it not true.
The guys will get it together. Everyone wants to bash them or abandon ship after one meaningful loss. This was a measuring stick and they have failed. I have faith that Jeff and the boys will turn it around quickly. As far as the newbie comments, I have been reading these threads for a good while and enjoy all of the debate and insight that our fans have. I don't post much because I like to just read the conversations. There are some people in here who have an understanding of what is going on and there are a few who do not have a clue. Everyone knows who it is. The emotions that are brought up in some of the posts only goes to show what big fans most of the people who post in here really are. We take our ROCKs seriously! And everyone is sick of seeing them play like they did last night, but it is still early in the season and they are going to have growing pains. this is Yao's second season. He is showing improvements but does need to work on being more aggressive. I don't know how many times he posted up and had Danny Fortson on his backside and I wished he would just back him down , turn and tear the MF Rim dow. Even if they called an offensive foul. at least he was being aggresive. You can see the frustration in his face, he will learn. There is only a few more times of backing down and doing that weak flip shot before he will get tired of getting his stuff rejected or missing a gimme. The time will will come. Everybody just be patient.
wut the F*** is ur problem??? Yao took as many shots as any guards!! he just played sissy the whole game and didnt knock them down
Wow! We lose one game to a powerhouse and all hell breaks loose. I wonder how the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic fans feel? Hello! We got three more shots at the zone playing Mavs. All is not lost. The Rockets will not go 72-10, so learn to just take a lost, or just an off night every now and then.
In the other forum, Tanner uses 9 different usernames. The most recent one, after the previous 8 were banned, is ex-NBA coach. Ex-NBA coach left these words today in the other forum: "I felt like I was surrounded all night. Bradley played great defence. I've a long way to go" said the 7-6 Ming after losing to the Mavericks last night. So my predictions were correct. Right now, Ming is merely another 7' 7" freak who cant play the game onless he is guarded by someone at least 8 inches shorter. The flat-footed Ming really took a step backwards last night. For someone 7' 6"ish, he sure plays like a midget. Ex-NBA Coach 'The Coach is always right'.
Well, at least i can see that you looked at the box score. thats a start. It's not completely about shot attempts. Yes, Yao missed several shots he will normally make. One factor is that Yao never gets easy baskets anymore. Steve gave him a great pass in the paint once, but that was about it. I think one thing that can help this team is when Pike comes back. Though I have only seen him play 1 or 2 games, i can almost guarantee that he is a better passer than Cat. It seems like the only reason why we are really starting Cat is for his outside shooting. Pike could replace him in the starting lineup, and Cat and Mo could come off the bench. If Cat is really about the team, he should take pride in running the show in the 2nd unit. Overrall, we'll have a good scoring team on the floor at all times. Now the question is, does JVG have the balls to bench mobley when the time is right?
I'm a newbie also and I've never started a thread. So, does that not fit with what I said? Actually, I've been here for about a year also. I forgot the password for my old user-name.
Hate to burst your bubble, but I'm not Ex-NBA coach. My IP address was banned completely, so I can't post on that site anyway, not that I want to. Second, I only have one account on clutch. If you want further proof, just ask the moderator. Third, I have never bashed Yao Ming. I criticize him, perhaps excessively at times, but only in a manner that's fair, and I do that with all players. The only player I bash is Moochie, and the only player I excessively praise is John Amaechi, because it's so obvious the Amaechi is the next Michael Jordan.
ANd if anybody from Yao Ming Manika is reading this, please know that I am NOT "Ex-NBA coach." Yaorule has done a good job as moderator by banning my IP address, so the only thing I can do is read the posts but not post myself. Since you people deserve to know, the very last account I created was BeijingBoy, so any new trolling accounts after that aren't mine, and you might want to ask Yaorule yourself if you want to know the truth.
