I'm impressed you were able to collect and post such good picks of Yao doing the same move. It's like taking one shot of Yao and digitally imposing him on all the other pics. Cool.

I think photographers love taking that shot because it truly demonstrates the height advantage. :)

Yao needs to develop a signature move. he does not have one. i repeat. he does not have one. If he does not develop one, he will forever be a very good but not great player.

This is one of CWebb's great failings. He cannot close games because he good at many things, jump hook, midrange J . . . but nothing that is signature and close to unstoppable

Kevin Garnett is perilously close to falling into CWebb's category forever if he does not do something about it. Garnett is very very good at a lot of things, but not great at anything.

Hakeem had the dream shake and jump hook. The defender was screwed because he could not commit to one side or the other. Nevermind the baseline drop step and up and under to follow the drop step

Shaq has the base-line-drop-step-offensive-foul for the dunk and jump hook in the lane.

Karla never won the big one but he had a patented game. Jumper off the elbow, up and bowl-into-you-flop-for-the-and-1, fadeaway. He had a set of moves that were tried and true.

Tim Duncan - mid range bank shot, wheel to the lane and finish wiht either hand, and incredibly efficient at all of it.

They don't expect Yao to jump.

I'm not sure about this, but isn't that left arm thing illegal?

Already covered "You can hold them off & protect your space but you can't extend your arm into their space pushing them back."

See how Duncan has his hand on Yao's waist? Thats his defensive habit that almost made him foul out against Spain. Its allowed in the US, but not in FIBA.

its probably just as hard, if not harder for these international players to adapt to nba play.

thats why they suck at defense!

I'd have to say Yao's signature move is when he is posted up near the baseline, another player passes the ball into him, Yao looks left like he's gonna do that jump hook, but instead spins right quickly and frees himself from the defender for an easy dunk or layup. Come on! Y'all know what I'm talkin' bout, right?

a signature move should not be just pretty occasionally. it should be nearly unstoppable.

    dream shake
    sky hook
    baby hook
    up n under

Yao's signature move is having his shot rejected by players who are a foot smaller than he is.
