I want the NBA, the owners, and the players to lose everything. They can all go broke for all I care.

What if the players somehow managed to start their own professional league? I'm sure they could continue using the current venues.

They would need a lot of investors, and they could probably hire current coaches and GMs.

As a way to cut costs early, the players could take reduced or no salaries in exchange for part ownership in the league.

    I'd tune in.

    No they couldnt

No stadiums, no charter flights, no expensive hotels, no doctors, no practice facilities, no medicines and weights, no peds, tv contracts, etc..etc...

You get the point...they'd be a grade above the And 1 tour

It will fail miserably. No NBA arena will allow it since most are owned if not leased by NBA owners.

No way that ever happens... Impossible. Too many factors they have no control over.

You think players would take reduced or no salaries? Why not just comply to the NBA owners in that case?

Oh I see what you mean. Sorry, I misread your last post. I still think it would be highly unlikely something like that ever worked out though.

Both sides are just playing the waiting game.

I guess we just have to wait and see who blinks first, and I want to know more than just games will be missed.

Don't worry about the NBA players going broke. They usually waste their money on ridiculous amounts of material items and their friends and family end up sucking them dry. That's probably why they want more money in the first place. Actually I suggest to everybody to give the Euro League a chance. It's actually really fun to watch and the fans are really into it. Not like the boring corporate parties they have at NBA games. I'm telling you, give it a shot. A team I suggest is Red Star Belgrade.

This would have been the perfect scenario for a T-Mac and Yao team...not having a whole season...we would have won the ship because they would have had better odds staying healthy!!! Shaft. :(

    This.

Lol. There is no basketball better than the NBA. Even if it lost 2-3 years, the day it comes back there will be the same amount of viewers.

speak for yourself, I love the NBA and hoops. Ill still enjoy college hoops, but I love the NBA and it is just almost apart of my winding down schedule to check scores and catch the games. I just enjoy hoops and the NBA has its flaws but it is so familiar to me, I definitely want it to start. That said, I am more than happy with half a season so long the players get held accountable on their contracts and the playing field is leveled between bigger and smaller markets at least a little so more competition is there(Its bs when people like to bring up the spurs and thunder, those are anomoly's who were straight up gifted when they had top draft picks when Kevind Durant and Duncan were there) they had great management, but take out a lot of luck adn the franchise would not be as successful. I want to see competition every night

    Well put. It's like we're seperated-at-birth twins.

I couldn't care less about the lockout. I'm fine without it and once the season starts I'll probably watch the few games I can catch per year. No biggie. I look at the positives of a 1, 2, or 3 year lockout because that's how many less years LerBon has of winning a ring.

And I think CFnet is more than basketball nowadays, at least for me. I don't go here primarily for basketball purposes, but rather the Hangout. In the beginning it was for the GARM, then that went downhill.
