In all fairness to CP3, he could shoot in middle school. :)

Tmac can be that play off the ball type player. That was the plan for the season. The question is whether he's willing to adjust his game. I dunno why he hasn't. He doesnt need to make drastic changes to his game; it's not like they're converting him to some weird role like a post player or such. He just needs to keep that ball moving better.

Untrue, end of discussion. Ok, obviously not end of discussion, not much of an argument there when you say that huh?

No, he makes the first pass usually off a drive if the play calls for him making the play.

Nope, but he's looking up court. News flash, passing up court is faster than dribbling up court.

Just as much as anyone else. He makes, he misses. He also drives and dishes. He also drives and gets fouled. Your point?

Dude...PnR with Yao. Tmac passing...is Yao moving?

Back door cuts with Scola and Hayes. Are they moving?

Wait..wha? Oh wait, another "me-mac" comment? Right he never passes, you got it. PnR with Yao again. If it isn't going to yao it's going to an open shooter, or to the PF who is able to get the ball to Yao on another passing angle, or he's driving all the way, yes around 2 people and getting a layup or foul (or no call).

Again, you are making blanket statements that just are not true. He takes jumpshots, he drives, he passes all at different times. He makes and he misses. tell me...what offense was Wade running when he led the to a ring? Jordan? Shaq? Duncan? It's called go to your guy who is going to win it for you. Is that Tmac, is it Yao? Who knows. It's not a damn system, I'll tell you that. The system is there as a base. You run it during the course of a game adjusting as you go.

Take the hate-glasses off. Imagine the game on the line...game 7. Without McGrady. What do we do? Force the ball into Yao? The D will be geared to stop that. So force a pass into a double team while Yao's getting fouled without a whistle? Can we say TO? Let's say he gets the ball, then double team comes. Can we say TO? Who is going to make that pass to begin with?

Who can pose a threat as a passer, shooter, and driver? I'm not saying Tracy is untouchable, but name one guy that we can realisitcally trade for.

When receiving the ball before dribbling, a player can drive, shoot, or pass.

these hate threads are ridiculous. we lose one game without yao and win the next one without t-mac and everyone says see it proves we should trade t-mac.

No way that's happening now with the roll we're on. No way. So the haters can whine all they want about t-mac's game, but it would be nice if we could just have one thread for them to limit their whining to. Maybe it could be this one.

    the problem is

without being a playmaker, tmac is just a good sg, nothing special. He's not a great slasher like manu, not a great shooter like rip, it's more like a rich man's combo of wells/head. I think there are tons of 8-10M players can do that for us.

    i see what you're saying.

but i tend to agree with some others on mcgrady.

drive - he's not done enough. and this is not something new. it's happened since at least last year.

shoot - his % is ok. but his shot selections are questionable at times, especially too many of those long j's early on the clock.

pass - in my observation, he now has the mentality of either score the ball or assist the ball. i think this is a result of playing jvg ball for the last 4 years, because i don't recall he was this type of player (dominating the ball so much) when he's in orlando. what puzzles me is - as great as he is as a player, he's slow to adapt the change adelman brings or wants to implement. rarely you'd see him make a hockey pass. and his moving & cutting in offense has been lacking.

and i'm not even going to talk about his defense.

i know what triple threat means. i just wanted that poster to elaborate a bit as to why he thought he's A THREAT in each of these. ok?

i see you post often. you have the tendency of unreasonably favoring mcgrady, no matter what he does or how he performs. just my opinion.

last nights game was more important because it was against a team that is directly ahead of us...............................I just don't honestly see how anyone with common sense can continue to stick up for a guy who

    a. makes false promises
    b. when those promises aren't upheld blames others...including teammates, fans, coaches, the arena?
    c. does not give100% effort every night
    d. has admitted to quitting on teams in the past
    e. is always injured, hurt, etc.
    f. has yet to lead this team out of the 1st round
    g. doesn't attack the basket enough

the guy is a total lame and that is why radio hosts, fans, NBA legends, etc. all diss him...............it's totally justified...............trade him and see what you can get in return..........

This board is so predictable. The Rockets will go on a winning streak..won't hear from half of the people on this thread, till'...T-Mac goes down or has a bad game and the Rockets win.

if you can't see why t-mac is a triple threat player - then i think that's fairly unreasonable.

honestly, i see most of the t-mac detractors have chinese looking usernames and i'd say you and many of the others are anti-T-mac because it's less shots and glory for Yao, and that's more important than the Rockets winning.

For me, it's the Rockets winning. But to each their own.

this is an idiotic statement..........me and many others post around here plenty with or without tmac in the lineup...through wins and losses, so please take that b.s. elsewhere...........the point of this thread is that people have lost faith in tmac and would like to see us get something in return for him........
