As an (unwilling) citizen of Lubbock, Bob Knight single handedly generated interest in a Basketball program that couldn't get more than 3500 fans in the seats against the likes of Kansas, OU, OSU, Texas, etc.

To agree qith Baqui... BIG NAME COACHES CAN MAKE A SERIOUS DIFFERENCE IN TICKET SALES!!

In a college town...perhaps. In Houston? No way. Red f'in Auerbach would not get people out. At best, the coaching change is a wash. At worst, it will cost Les some longer-term fans.

The new building is good for a short term (this season and next) bump, but the team needs to win and win BIG if it expects any kind of sustained attendance, especially at those prices.

Actually........most people in Houston don't go to games. They can't even sellout 16,285 seats with this awesome team and there's like 4 million people.
