He wasn't coming off back surgery last year. DMo needs to come off the bench until he can do better than Capela, because that twin tower lineup is killing it.

    This!

in practice he's playing against Dwigth, there is no better teacher to play D. When he become ready agains Dwigth he's become starter again.

They needed points again tonight and they never once used the high percentage play of using Dmo in the post. What kind of "Offense" are they running here. Even McHale fed Dmo when they needed buckets down the stretch last season.

I'm sure they'll learn one of these days, but till they do, I expect more losses like this.

So we score 11 points more than our season average and the issue is getting DMo more touches down in the low post?

Not turnovers, not giving up 121 points.... But DMo low post touches....

They used it plenty of times.

Milsap on DMo in the post worked out great!

Dmo can't get any touches in post..Thronton can't get any minutes! This coach sucks.

Wouldn't you go to a high percentage play when they are struggling to get points? That hero ball garbage wasn't working. Heck, I'd rather they post Dwight than hero ball garbage.

Not nearly as well as pretty much anyone on Dwight Howard tonight, he was just terrible defensively.

If you want to talk about late game execution then that's fine. However, the issues that remain are defense and turnovers, and this team won't win anything significant with how the defense can allow 121 points scored and cough up 19 turnovers.

I'd welcome more post up for Donuts, but that's ain't going to solve the Rocket's issues.

And Adelman wouldn't give player "X" enough minutes or Adelman doesn't believe in defense....

    Same ****...

Are you ****ing kidding me? Milsap on Howard worked great, Milsap on Capela - none of our players could handle him tonight.

If you need an infusion of offense, you play Thornton more, not less.

And if you dont really need to stay in front of your man or get a much needed rebound stick Dmo out there.

    Buts he's awesome on offense.

Actually that is 100% incorrect, DMo switches, stays in front of his man and boxes out very well, what he doesn't do well is chase rebounds out of his area.

And with Dwight as a good rebounder, they compliment each other well.

Of course.....rebounds don't win games.....we outrebounded the Hawks last night BTW.

Tale of two halves. Hawks owned everybody in the paint in the 2nd half up to and including Dmo. I watched the game too and saw Dmo getting beat off the dribble time and time again putting the last line of defense in awful positions, and you missed the 'much needed' part, you know when its tied or team behind, stat padding ahead by 20 means squadoosh.

They killed all of our bigs, DMo, Howard, Capella - our strategy of switching everything put our bigs in terrible positions to defend Teague...or another quick penetrating player - that was pure coaching idiocy.

Then you top it off with Howard staying in the paint while Holford drains 3s, yeah, our coaches have zero clue.

DMo is not perfect, but he is the LEAST of this teams issues - and he had 7 boards last night and the team outrebounded Atlanta overall, how did that go?

Cheers! I agree the entire coaching staff should be relieved of duty for being incompetent and downright negligent on the job.

Im hoping that Dmo gets healthier and regains his defensive foothold like he had last year and I will return to the hug-a-thon. Currently he's a liabililty on that end no other way to put it. Lumping him into the 'everyone' category is deflective and doesnt represent what is happening out there.

Just say he's boss on offense and he has a ways to go on defense, it would be an accurate statement. Making excuses for him while the tape shows otherwise isnt a strong argument. Even against bigs he is routinely beat to the loose ball and outmuscled for rebounds, he simply isnt boxing out and his lateral quickness is non existent post injury.

Actually Howard was guarding Horton on the perimeter, leaving the likes of DMo to get abuses by Milsap. One CRITICAL play in particular Milsap walked right to the basket right thru DMo as if he wasn't even there. Translation: DMo can't guard skilled power fowards and therefore shouldn't have played in that situation

The issue is that DMo is still the 3rd best defensive big man on the roster and last night he was the 2nd best big man on the Rockets (Dwight was uncharacteristically awful defensively). Harping on his defense when the alternatives are actually worse is just odd.
