A little late to the party here.....

Cleared the way for a better player in CBud??? DD, when are you going to take off the rose colored glasses and stop falling head over heels for average players just because they play for the Rockets? Injury aside, C-Bud is far from a better player than Ariza. As it stands there are no signs pointing to him being any better than Ariza.

The only "win" in the scenario of trading Ariza was getting to try to develop Lee and getting out from under Ariza's contract. CBud has nothing to do with the "win" equation at this point.

Are you kidding me? As a rookie, Bud was already a far superior offenensive player. And its not like he has to go far to match Arizas D, if he is not there already

No doubt, Ariza is a vastly overated player....just not that good.

And Morey was the one that said we traded Trevor to clear room for CBud.....take it up with him.

I'm just playing devil's advocate here because I never liked the Ariza signing and was happy to see him go, but CBud is far from a far superior offensive player. He did shoot a better percentage from the field last season, but he wasn't asked to take on the scoring load as much as Ariza was either. In the 4 years prior to coming to Houston Ariza shot.49375 from the field in virtually the same role CBud plays.

Talk to me about far superior when CBud plays more than 21.4 minutes per game.

CBud has proven nothing. You both are comparing apples to oranges.

Ariza has been bashed so much, I don't see how he possibly can be overrated.

I can't believe people actually thought Lee was better than Ariza.

    Keep drinkin the kool-aid.....

Yeah, we could be 5-8. You do realize that this team went 22-27 down the stretch? We were going nowhere fast with Ariza.

Also Ariza's contract was for 5 years while Miller, who is the best Yao insurance we've had in years, has a 3 year contract with the last year guaranteed for only $1 million.

WHy would we have had more wins? We would still play terrible defense and the offense would only be scoring less points

You know this is a total homer response - this has nothing to do with CBud it was a total salary dump where the Rockets down graded the talent on the Roster.

Lee has been pretty awful in Houston so far and Trevor was a big reason the team had a decent record last year.

You sound like that idiot on the spurs formum who defended trading Scola because they signed Bonner to a new deal.

Here we go again with this crap. Ariza was talented at nothing basketball wise, so to say it was a talent downgrade is ridiculous.

Any money we immediatley saved we spent on Miller who filled a hole we had at backup center. So to say it was a salary dump is also ridiculous.

Lee hasnt been great this year, but Ariza has been worse.

Wait, so you like Battier but not Ariza?

Kwame hates Battier and loves Ariza.
larsv8 loves Battier and hates Ariza.

    It's bizzaro time!

To me, they are very similar players, except Ariza forces more shots and isn't quite as smart, but he's more athletic. Essentially they are both defensive wings who can occasionally provide some offense.

They are two completely different players. The only thing they have in common is they are roleplaying SFs.

Still better than 3 wins. This isn't about Battier to me. It's about Lee. We thought we were getting a steal like Lowry. Sadly, we were mistaken.

Ariza has 3 years left after this season. Miller has 1 so it's about the same for 2 years. Either way, we should have gotten more for Ariza.

Ariza is better than Bud, Lee, and Battier.

There is no denying that. Hornets didn't try to trade Collison for Budinger, Lakers didn't win a championship with Lee, and Battier sucks no need to justify that.

    Man are you high?

Trevor is shooting about 37% for the Hornets right now. You can make the argument that the team is doing well despite Ariza.

If they had a stat on an opposing team scoring because Ariza jacks f'd up shots, he would be the leagues leader.
