i thought the trailers were funny. still may see it, sorry moe. i watched the larry and craig movie this weekend, thought it was funny, i guess that his latest movie before this.
what did you think it's gonna be? has adam sandler made a good movie since billy madison? i would never pay for a movie a like that. it would have to be a 2 for 1.
This isn't the best news, but I wasn't going to go see it anyway. I thought this movie would be good, with Adam Sandler playing a part that wasn't 'Adam Sandler'. I've enjoyed all of his movies where he was a character and not himself being silly. And I agree. Dumb and Dumber is fantastic. It's the platinum standard for silly comedy.
I've seen the previews of this movie several times and I knew that it was going to be a trainwreck of a movie. Not that an Adam Sandler fan to begin with (I think he sucks ass and is slightly better when he plays "serious roles"), but my wife was laughing at some of the scenes, much to my chagrin and dismay. I finally told her that if she wanted to go watch that piece of trash movie that she would have to watch it without me.
is it classic adam sandler? Brainless physical potty humor with multiple references to the 80's era? If so then I'm there
I haven't seen it, but that was the reaction I had during Balls of Fury. I literally did not even smile. I find it had to believe it could have been that bad. I guess I'll never know because I will never see it because it looks like a steaming pile of herpes.
Balls of fury was a huge disappointment. I didn't laugh once but part of it was because i was upset that fat dude kept getting to touch Maggie Q. Grrrr
It was exactly like Balls of Fury in that regard (Which I stopped watched after an hour of torture) The premise was good enough to set up some funny jokes and gags but they all fell flat. and I thought Click was a pretty decent flick.
So, was she naked at all? It looked dumb from the previews, but thought it would at least be tolerable...guess not...
I stand by my original views on the movie. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=147879 Advice heard but I'll still be seeing it.
See I am a huge Sandler fan. I love stupid movies and Dumb and Dumber is one of my favorite of all time so that shows my movie sophistication level. This movie, however, was absolutely Adam Sandler's worst movie he has ever made. I'll agree there were a few parts that make you laugh, but the movie gets old real quick.
Eesh, my condolences... even the preview looked awful. I think Sandler had some Borat envy and wanted to hop on that train. He's got a funny voice! He's obviously not from here! Ohhhh hahaha. You could even just tell by the title of the movie. It sounds like something a 7th grader would like.
glad i didnt watch this but lately he hasnt really made anything worth watching. i did like punch drunk love and i really enjoyed 50 first dates quite a bit. but this was just stupid from looking at the trailers. i wonder how much money it will end up making after this weekend. it seems a lot of review so far i have seen have been bad.
I think the OP is lying. There is no way he didn't laugh once. How about the "dossier" on The Phantom: Age: 37 Height: 6'1" Bombs: Left-handed Yeah, I think some people are taking themselves a little too seriously if they didn't at least find the scenes in Going Out of Business or pretty much all of John Tuturro's scenes somewhat funny.
I will wait for the DVD release to watch Zohan . "I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry" , was a pretty good movie IMO . I am a big "King Of Queens" fan so Kevin James had a lot to do with me liking Chuck & Larry .
I thought the movie was really funny until the end actually. I like the schtick. Also, people shouldn't go in expecting Oscar type acting. I would actually recommend this movie if you've liked previous Sandler movies, as well as Kung Fu Panda (which was better).
Well if you saw the movie, majority of the stereotypes were on middle eastern people (ie. working at a electronic store). I probably missed some stereotypes since I'm not of middle eastern descent. It's easier to laugh at your own culture than someone else's. If there were a bunch of Asian stereotypes in the movie, I could pick them out easier and would be more personal (thus more hilarious). Why would you be confused? This isn't the DnD.
