Address the point about your overtly political signature, coward. You've been allowed to treat the D&D as your personal blog for years, yet you can't comply with simple requests and rules that Clutch and the moderators have put forth.

Take note of the bolded area.

I have no doubts she made a courageous choice...and many, many people do...but that does not mean she is any more special than anyone other mother that takes on that type of challenge.

It is sad that so many think she will be this important person in the US.....Vice President! No wait......PRESIDENT!!!

Every time I argue with a Palin supporter.......Trig gets brought up in her defense. "Well she chose to have him.....and is an amazing woman for that. That says something about her ya know!"

Fine.....she is an amazing woman. Her husband should tell her to keep her arse at home and be a mother to her kids instead of parading them out in public to further her career.

Sorry.....that is my Palin rant for the hour. ;)

Thanks, R2K. Just to be clear, my signature is in no way political. It describes my behavior when I'm confronted by a replicant and forgot my pistol.

You'd be surprised at how many who do. Call Avondale House and see if they will tell you how many kids are bused there daily from the "home". I witnessed a busload being dropped off there, many of whom were only mildly autistic. I'm not saying the parents threw their kids in the trash just that they were too much for them to handle. My heart broke watching those kids get off that bus. Before some of you (not you pointforward) run around throwing the "r" word around to describe these kids, try considering the life they live...

Sarah Palin is proud of her child and isn't ashamed of his disability. She's bringing awareness to the special needs community and I admire her for it.

Avondale is a school that caters only to autism and autism-related disabilities. It provides a full range of services for all levels of income with a purpose of improving lives and increasing independence. It is for kids who cannot go to normal schools, even special ed. Please tell me why "busloads" of kids going to Avondale is a bad thing or is akin to parents "throwing out" their children?

I'm well aware of the services that Avondale provides and I applaud them for it.

What do you think I meant by the bus that I observed that came from "the Home"? They are autistic kids who were turned over to the state. The bus was a normal sized bus filled to capacity. The other buses came from various school districts and usually had 1-3 kids on them. I meant it was a shame, for whatever reason, their parents turned over their kids to the state.

Ah, I thought your use of "home" was to suggest it was a crappy one. Now I see what you mean. Yes, Avondale deals with wars of the state and, as such, their lives are generally not great and often leads to such things as overloading kids with lithium so the aides don't have to deal with their "behavior problems".

Obviously, the majority of these kids come from lower-income families and it truly is tragic.

Apologies for not understanding your post.

Look at the dates, giddy. The only posts since Thanksgiving were Granville's complimenting basso and mine (incorrectly) thinking I needed to defend Avondale.

Do you really think your response was even remotely amusing? That's a pretty classless thing to say. I'm sure you know that but somehow it's more important to you to improve your street cred with the herd here...

i've read a lot of insensitive posts here, but this may be the most offensive- unless you were being ironic, and i somehow missed the joke.

do you have a son, and if so, is he autistic? if not, please refrain from making "jokes" like these.
