there's nothing controversial in this thread, other than your own (apparent) fears and prejudices, which was the point.
Again you are smarter than that. There are several other famous women with special needs children, Jenny McCarthy, who aren't polarizing political figures you could've posted.
Yep. I tried to do that for a while in the D&D. It's impossible. There are at least 3-4 guys who will always respond to his trolling. They're more irritating than he is sometimes.
I generally try to keep an even keel but personally I find this post and thread insulting. As someone who does volunteer work with adults and children with developmental disabilities such as autism and cerebral palsy I find your statement accusing posters of having fears and prejudices, disgraceful. I don't believe you are an idiot or being willfully dense. This thread is clearly an attempt to use a figure you know would be polarizing with a cause that you knew you could use to try to cause shame on other posters. If anything it is you who have shamed the issue by bringing associating this with a figure that you know is very polarizing. I'm sure that everyone here cares very much about children with special needs that doesn't change depending on who the parent is but what we don't care for is using special needs children as part of some ploy to score political points.
LOL So the point of your thread was that people don't like Sarah Palin? Because that is what the thread has become. Oh, and that people don't like you. Seeing as how there has been no discussion of the special needs children, if the discussion taking place is "the point" as you just stated, then you are at last have admitted to being a troll. Is a confession enough for action?
dude, you're really reaching. the point of the thread was to show special needs kids in a positive light, and to demonstrate that our own discomfort (discomfort i used to share) is worth overcoming, because "there's something we're missing." these kids work so hard, and overcome so much, they don't deserve society's ignorance, disdain, disgust, discomfort. and getting to know one is perhaps the most rewarding thing you'll do today. palin has said as much many times- which is why i included her. everything else that's been put forth in this thread is pure projection, and simply an expression of the posters' own discomfort with the actual thread topic.
My little brother is a special needs kid. So is the son of one of my best friends. Neither he nor I use it to score political points. You're disgusting for doing so. And you're way out of line bringing this disgusting **** into the hangout. And you've now ignored not only Clutch's rule about sigs but also R2K's explicit instruction to comply with the rules. You should be banned.
Basso plays a perpetual game with the mods. He doesn't exactly do enough to be banned, and I'm sure he'd say he never saw any order to remove a sig. He walks up the line and laughs.
As I've said before, please just stay in the D&D. And of all places, you choose a basketball forum to vent your political issues.
This really is going to be my final post to you. Every single person who's read this thread knows what you're trying to do -- both politically and as a troll. The people who say that responding you is part of the problem are right though. Everyone should follow suit. Bye again. For real.
You know, if it was anyone other than basso, texxx, or T_J posting this exact thread, nobody would have said anything. What does that tell you basso? People just automatically assume anything you post is politicized even if you had different intentions (personally I believe you did have political goals in this thread). Just keep your antics in the D&D for the board's sake.
