Nothing fishy. I am just being unbiased. This is a simple matter in the eyes of a Laker fan. It does not seem too simple for either YOF or SOF to think logically.
Not really. Steve plays great VS. the Lakers and has torched them on several occasions, it wouldn't be unusual for one of them to come over here and give him some love.
I like The Answer as well. He'd be a massive upgrade over Mobley in terms of basketball skill, intellegence and ability. No one plays the game with more desire, determination and passion on a nightly basis which is a far cry from what Steve Fancy has been giving the Rockets for 5 years now. He is simply stuck on a bad team and in a stupid organization plus he's an easy target to bash because of his looks and temperament. But Iverson is a absolute killer on the court and would be a perfect fit here playing with Yao. He'd be freed from having to be the 1st, 2nd and 3rd offensive option as he is now in Philly and would make teams pay for playing the "Yao Zone" defense that they use to smother the Rockets. But this is all wishful thinking because it would take a bold and daring organization to pull off a trade for AI and that's one thing the Rockets and Uncle Les are nowhere close to being.
Which NBA player will you most likely want to get rid of as you're paying them $91m until they are 34 years old.
You cant be have been watching the Games for many years because if you had and you were a Rockets Fan you wouldn't suggest such a blunder as putting Iverson in a Rockets Uniform-Ball Hog-Bad Character and disruptive. No thanks.
Ask Sacremento, they let go of Jason Williams after winning 55 games, because Bibby fit them better. Dare to be great !! DD
You people are crazy if you want to trade Francis for AI. Yao is a system/structure type of player, but neither AI, nor Francis is. There is no guarentee that AI will turn into one the minute he gets here. I know many of you want to trade Francis for nothing, but can you tell us your expectation of the Rockets this season, or for the next couple years? How long do you think it's reasonable to grow a team into a contender? 3 years, or 5 years? I didn't think the Rockets' style was the right fit for Yao before his rookie season, but since he is playing for the Rockets, you have to give them a chance to work it out. Will Steve work out eventually, there is no sure answer for that, but you have to give the guy, and the team a fair chance before declaire it won't work. This is the first season this team has been playing with a new system/structure, how long do you think it should take players to get used to it before you want to trade away any player? --daoshi
Good evening everybody! Happy St. Pat's. I just saw some lovely Irish dancers at the pub here in Banff. Boarding is soft and sweet. I agree with DD, mostly. You don't NOT make a deal because something you have might be adequate. You don't want to be adequate. You want to be a champion. You have to be able to make a calculated risk to move your good assets for the best ones. Slow and steady will only get you bad lotto picks. You have to take the risk, to rise to the top in the association. You want to be mediocre for a while; ride it out. "Just give the more time!" Another year, another two, another three, then Yao is up for his max; NO. Things move faster than that, fellas. The league is like gravity. Use it or lose it. Don't latch Yao to an anchor. Give him wings.
With the CBA, the teams get their hands tied to do too much. You need time & patience to assemble a team, and let them grow together. How long did it take the kings to be where there are since they got Webber? What about the Mavs? The Lakers were the only one became dominating after PJ arrived, but they got Shaq at his prime. Give them some time, let them grow together.
This is a nice quote here. I question general manager Dawson's, and former coach Tomjanovich's vision for greatness.
Agreed. Taking calculated risk to optimize the team is the way to rise to the top. Not to say just trade Francis for anyone, but exploring the trade market and finding the right deal is key. Unless you wanna tank like the SA and get the next TD, you gotta take risks to get the next Kobe, or in Rockets case, find a solid pg, or get a more suitable upgrade at other positions. Basetball is like an archery contest without multiple archers but only one arrow. Give the arrow to the most capable one and let everything revolve around him. Francis is like a small archer on the outside, who shoots best when the best big archer moves outta his way, and shoots poorly when the big archer stays in the inside, and when Francis shoots better, it requires him to hug the arrow, dribble around, and can't involve other archers. He might get better but not to the extent that a square peg becomes round. The Rockets dared to be great with Yao with naysayers floating around, and they face a similar decision now.
