You can easily make a case right now for Scola being better than several of those players you listed as 3rd bests... same with Battier to a slightly lesser extent.
I still think Novak was not used correctly. At least in the last play of each quarter (when an offensive posesion is on the Rockets) he has to be on the court, the guy shoots well. I also saw a lot of posters complaining about Scola, how do you expect him to do when the backcourt shots a combined 9 for 36, Utah just let T-Mac and Jackson jump shoot to death.
if we do a yao-for-kobe&bynum trade is debatable. maybe for another day after the season. i was just disagreeing with you on by having kobe we'd extend our window to 6 years.
No im not arguing just pointing it out is all. There is really no facial expressions that translate through computers to well lolz.
I was just wondering. Morey has indicated we have the expiring contracts now for a big offseason trade? WHO??? Is this why the team cant focus in the playoffs? So who else is out the door because expirings alone isnt going to be enough. If it is just expirings now its a team 1 year older and another 1st round exit. He needs to think extending the window rather than what to add at this point.
From what i gather im on to something i think. Morey has said 2 things so far. point guard upgrade AND expiring contracts AND Pat Riley has been noticing the Rockets during the streak AND guess what??? Wasnt Morey talking to the Heat last offseason ???
Hey guys does Battier/Jackson/Head for Wade make any sence?? Is Wade our point guard or something? Remember Morey was trying to trade Alston&Head for Haslem last season. So they still keep in touch im sure enough. I got to thinking even more they took Wade out early for the season last season because that team Wade is already a going on 6 year vet and by the time it gets back to another championship level could take another 4-5 years and Wade would be in the league for 11 years. Marion might not even stay too so they are in a bind and are going to go with the draft pick to rebuild around i bet you. Do you really think they would try to build around him? I really dont think so a guy his size and wear and tear normally dont last too long in the league. Take Francis for example.
I am late to this thread. I disagree with the OP's premise. I think with Yao healthy, this team (with this roster and this coach) is a contender. Think about this, with our best player missing 1/3 of the season, we still won 55 games and got HCA in the first round. If Yao was playing now, nobody would want to match up with us. No team can afford to lose one of their two stars and still contend. I mean NO TEAM, no matter how much talent you have with your role players. Name me a 2-star team you could eliminate one of the stars and they could still contend. The closest I can think of is the Suns when Amare was injured. But a lot of people could argue that Marion was their 2nd best player. So the problem is not that we don't have enough talented role players around our two stars. The problem is obviously that our two stars cannot stay healthy very long. I still have faith that Yao and TMac can stay fairly healthy in one of our playoff runs in the next few years. Just a thought: why don't they try McGrady at the full-time PG position? It seems that his scoring abilities have declined. But he is still damn good at facilitating. Get a good shooter (with speed to guard opposing PG) at SG who is good at both spotting up 3s and cutting to the basket. If Magic Johnson can play PG, why can't TMac?
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !!! With Yao we would have been the number 1 seed and the favorites in the Western confernce with the roster as is..... Been saying this for 3 years now..... DD
Ahhh Shades of one of all time best movie scenes.... Lloyd - "Hit me with it!...What are my chances?" Mary - "Not good." Lloyd - "You mean not good like one out of hundred?" Mary - "I would say more like one out of a million." Lloyd - "So you are saying there is a chance!!!!!!"
