    Mango,

But if you have a chance to get Mo for 2.25M or for 5-6M, which do you take?

Maybe Rudy realised this was a bit of a steal and got (possibly) an above-average (but not All-Star calibre) player very cheap?

P.S I am Pro-Mo, so Smegg, I am part of the Un-Clean Shaven Crew :)

I don't agree at all. He can too rebound. He averaged 6.5 which is okay. I mean if you were on the Clippers would you say great things about their crappy players.

I think getting Mo at 2.25mil is an absolute steal. How can anyone object to making your team better? So what if Falk is his agent! We all know Falk is evil but getting MO at this price is a no-brainer. Mo is gonna play his butt off, this year so that he can get a big contract. You can always not sign him next year if he has a bad year. We didn't have to give up anything to get him so whats the big deal!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree getting him was a steal, I am just concerned that the move might r****d KT's growth.

I personally feel KT has a very large upside, but he needs minutes to develop.

Yeah I'm also worried bout Kenny's development. He showed a lot of potential his first year and his post moves seemed very impressive when he didnt travel. His 3 pointer wasnt that great, but at least he showed he could make it.

Kenny should just be better simply becuz it's his 2nd year, and he'll be more experience + gettin more respect from the officials. But then if you factor in his offseason work, he should be even better.

    Chuck04 ,

Sure its is smarter to pay less salary wise and not give up anything in return.

I was just illustrating that Mo wasn't the hot property that many suggest. If Mo was that hot an item, I think the Clips would have taken that package despite their differences.

    Hypothetical example:

    August 2001.
Webber decides that he wants to join the Rockets. The Kings are reluctant, but he threatens to walk completely if they don't do a sign-n-trade with Houston.
The Kings tell the Rockets to offer a similar package as I outlined in my previous Taylor example. Would the Rockets give up that package for Webber? I know the trade exception is long gone and the Bucks pick might have already been used, but use the general ideas as outlined above.

Would the Rockets give up that package for Webber?

    Coachboy,

Just because he represented Jordan don't mean I like the f**ker. Just because you claim to be a Rocketfan don't mean people in here believe you. Anyways, you got a problem with me cuz I liked Jordan?

See, it works both ways! [IMG]

Unlike YOU, Coachboy, I admire people like Jordan who work their ass off to make themselves better. Sorta like Dream and Malone(even though he is evil).

AND WHAT THA HELL DOES HOLYFIELD HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING ABOUT THE ROCKETS?

Coach, crack is bad for you. Did you know that?

PS...Why do I keep replying to CoachToads post? Can someone answer that for me?

Almu, did YOU know crack was bad for you!? [IMG]

Put me in with the PRO-MO crowd..
    It's basically a win-win situation for us,
Faulk won't have any power over the Rocks unless Mo has a All-Star year and if Faulk tries to strongarm the Rocks I believe that they would tell him to FO (at least I would like to believe) If Mo sucks...well we either don't resign him or trade for another player. either way..we lose nothing!

KT will benefit from not having to be The Man at the 4,he can come in off the bench or get starting minutes if Mo sucks. Either way the pressure is off of KT, allowing him the time to fulfill his potential.

End point being : Let's give this kid a chance to show us his stuff here before we toss him to the wolves..eh??

But after all is said and done, this is just my stinkin little opinion.(tho it be less knowledgable than my more learned brethren here) [IMG]

Sorry for the length of the post, I know it's a bit outta character for me.

Back to self-imposed posting retirement for me

I'm also Pro-Mo. Mainly because the PF position last season was probably our weakest, and with Taylor that position is filled. He averaged 17+ points and almost 7 rebounds with the Clippers last season. What makes you think he won't do that here? And what are the chances that we sign someone better then him?
I think he wants to win, because if he didn't he'd sign with the highest offer, even if the team stunk. I'm not saying the Rockets had a great season last year, but I mean they will probably do great this year, thanks to Taylor signing.
