What would you do?

  1. Split it, $4MM is still a ton of money

  3. Doesn't matter if the group was all my best friends, I'd still take the $200MM and run!

I would definitely split it. I would be in a lotto group with friends. If we all had 4mm we could go on all kinds of crazy trips and have a blast hanging out since we will all be doing well.

If I stole it, then I won't have any friends to have fun with.

if you claim it as a sole winner, then you are responsible for all the taxes. but you also expose yourself to the public while the other "winners" don't have to publicize their name. you claim it as a group, each person is responsible for their share.

also, by claiming the winnings by yourself, the 49 other winners will be taxed again when you give them their share because it will count against them as income.

Its too much trouble, to keep the ticket, and exchange it for all the money, also they would put in the news something like that, so would be exposed.

so just share it, 4 million is still too much money.

I think it's obvious most would split it and take the 4 mil!

It's what you do with that 4 mil that matters. Huge mansion and a couple of ferraris or open a business and invest?

I'd divide it. I don't want to be on the run for the rest of my life.

Now if I could keep all the money and not be on the run, then screw the people I work with, I'm keeping that. Maybe I'll set up a college fund for their kids.

$1 million should be enough to have 49 people assassinated.

$4 million dollars would come out to a little over 2 million after taxes.

I have an elegant, happy solution:

This is true. Once you verbaly accept something you can't go back.

If person A tells person B he will sell him his phone for 1$, then he HAS to do it. If not person B can file a lawsuit but needs proof (witness', etc).

We've seen people that go into these group pools and, when they win, they try to make some idiotic claim like they bought the ticket that won separately outside the pool or try to pull a scam. You have to be a major douchebag to try to scam other people in the pool and claim the winnings as your own. I personally believe that with a lot of people...you just don't know what they will do until they are actually going through it. When that greed kicks in, you just never know.

What if there are 250 people in the pool and you have a choice between keeping $1 billion and $4 million?

    Can you imagine that?
