I already voted for Mr. Show. At least I think. It looked like the poll allowed me to choose multiple shows. I voted for three.

I remember catching that on Nick at Nite for the two or three years we had cable in the late '80s. I remember one skit where Harold Ramis was some Dutch police detective throwing wooden shoes at all his perps, and then one game show called Dat's da Name o' dat Tune that didn't make sense until I found out who Robert Blake was. I think Catherine O'Hara and Andrea Martin still get roles after forty years on the strength of that Mother Theresa sketch.

I put Mr. Show at 1 and UCB at 2, beyond that it is harder to order them, with Chappelle and SCTV being up there.

I would stick my neck out and nominate Key and Peele, they rely fairly heavily on black culture but wrote well enough to draw out some real absurdist stuff. Maybe not greatest among all sketch comedies, but probably the best edited minority one out of Chapelle, In Living Color, Uptown Comedy Club (where Tracy Morgan and Jm Breuer started out).

I vote Key and Peele and SCTV at the top. SCTV just was a pioneering show with good talents. Key and Peele was consistent and in touch with culture

I'm a fan of The State. It did signify a 90s generational change in attitude and approach. It was good showing the tone of "Young people now arent following your 'mature' way of things". Though freely admit lots of content was being irreverent and dopey just for the sake of doing it. You can do so much with "Kid with Baloney Sandwiches for Feet" as source material.

I like Portlandia too. It gets too dopey too, but since its based on an already irreverent culture it could give itself license to go excessive with things
