This must be a one-sided battle then. Seems to me like someone has taken things a little personal.

    ZRB,

No certain person in mind, just an observation made over time of those who had come and gone and then wished to return after banning/suspension.

Your response does bring up a question that you could answer for the general membership.

After all of the disagreements and feuding with the rest of CC and then getting the boot, what is it about this place that made you want to come back and be allowed to post again?

Not trying to be harsh, just trying to get your viewpoint.

Has Rockeem' with the apostrophe been kicked off yet? I sure hope so because Behad seems pretty cool to me. [IMG]

I suppose if I had 1890 pointless posts I would want my account back.

Trolls like Rockeem should automatically be banned, w/out a second thought.

Does anybody find it strange that Rockeem is mad at Behad for constantly responding with your mom. If you really have a problem with that then stop calling him a b****.

I am curious as well, ZRB. How old are you? I don't think you posted it in the "Age" thread did you?

    Behad-

I'm just curious as to whether or not Rockeem' has taken the time to drop you an email rather than letting us in on the feud.

Oh, this is funny though! [IMG]

    Thanks SpaceGhost, how nice.

Anyway Mango, responding to your good question:

First of all, I thought I was banned for rather silly reasons. I didn't really think I was as bad as all the other banned people. I didn't really insult anyone (outside of not-too-serious digs at the Rockets). That time I called you a "git", that was just in jest. I didn't mean much by it.

Secondly, it was just the principle of the thing. I hated the idea that I could be banned from something like this. I was embarassed. I didn't want to re-register under a different name, because you would have figured me out. Plus, it would have been just as stupid as lying about my famous chat alter-ego.

Finally, I just really enjoy posting here. I wasn't trying to be a troll, it just seemed that way. I love talking about the Rockets, the NBA, and life in general with people around the world. It is kind of exciting. I didn't want to be added to the "banned" list, and constantly come to the board and read about my famous booting. I had confidence in myself that I could improve my reputation. Even though I will likely never meet any of you, the thought of several hundred people around the world thinking of me as a total **** didn't appeal to me.

Oh, and the post count. Starting from zero? AAAAHHHHH!

I hope I have somewhat improved as a poster, and I will continue to make the effort. I feel that I have plenty of intelligent thoughts to add, along with my occasional negative crap.

    My age?
I will keep it a mystery... I wouldn't mind hearing a few guesses, though. Ha haaaa, more posts coming right up...

My gosh Rockeem, it's just a BBS man. No need to go crazy. I don't like Behad's attitude either, but you know, it's kinda unjustified because how can you really judge someone by what he writes on the bbs? And so what, you don't like him, big deal. It's just a bbs. I get where you're coming from though, with all his "this is how it's supposed to be" stuff, but hey, it's just his opinion. Maybe he has a complex or something, or he might be my company's drill instructor? No matter what though, don't take any of this bbs stuff personal, and don't cuss too much. Then you won't get banned.

I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that Behad's self-proclaimed status of "Sergeant at Arms" is a reference to the Serious Police.

The Serious Police started up about the time as the Spelling Police and the Grammar Police, which was also more or less when everyone started proclaiming to be the Fan Club President of So-and-So, and the President of This, That, and the Other.

If you don't know about the Serious Police, you haven't been here long enough, and you should get the BBS "vibe" that someone mentioned above before you start calling people b****es.

Keeping in the spirit of my post, I am now proclaiming myself to be the Commander and Founder of the Enema Police.

Rockeem, you are the first of hopefully not many: You need an enema.

why is everyone defending behad? I see mister rockeems point and i do not think he is far off in some ways...

once this board becomes a board for people that decide what is and what isnt right for their own minds ( in this case behad) it becomes boring... this website will begin to just be all you guys and no one else..thats real exciting let me tell you..

i want to defend this rockeem guy only because you guys are jocking this behad guy for reasons that i cannot understand..

by the way insulting someones mother doesnt make you smarter or king of wits to me it makes you an idiot..

also because you are a 'member' and have 88 thousand posts doesnt make you more knowledgeable or more anything..

what if rudy t started posting anonymously? his opinion would be crap right because he was a junior member.. [IMG]

just a completely objective opinion from a casual clutch city bbs observer..

I think everybody's problem is that every other word typed by Rockeem was "b****", and then he went on a childish rampage. If he had a problem with Behad, deal with it in a mature way, or report him to an administrator or talk to him through e-mail. Don't go around calling everybody a "b****".

    Rockeem'

Dammit, why did you have to put punctuation on the end of your new name...it is harder to type.

Good thing you didn't add the Bob Finn* apostrophe...only one person gets to use the nickname* joke from the registration forum.

I was scared to read further, but I did.

In most cases, people don't decide it, common sense does, and when common sense appears to be failing, people intervene. If you still don't like the board at that point, you are free to leave the board, but that's just common sense, right?

Well, if that's the only reason you're going to defend him...

Except in this case we know otherwise. Behad may be a poor fantasy basketball owner and really have nothing to do at work, but he's not an idiot. Rockeem on the other hand...

This is the one that I find hilarious. Everybody keeps going back to it. It seems as the post count "have-nots" are the ones that keep bringing it up as if the post count "haves" carry a banner with them. This opinion has gotten so insane, I've recently tried to make it come true for those of you that actually believe it by saying, "Yes, anyone with as few posts as you should not be taken seriously". If anything, you "have nots" have some kind of cyber inferiority complex. lol.

Nope. That's just what your warped opinion and apparent cyber inferiority complex leads you to believe. Proof that this isn't true? DunkingDeutchman a fan of the freakin' Mavs started posting here and he hasn't been run off. He posts intelligent responses. ZRB has almost 2000 posts and some people want to pour gasoline on him and set him ablaze (of course I'm not one of them) despite the fact he often has intelligent posts. What you type, how you present it, and where you type it dictates the response, not how many posts you have.

This belief about the number of posts giving someone an ego is some self-contrived garbage that a lot of people seem to jump on. If you don't like the attempt at order that people like Behad and Mango bring to the BBS, feel free to go to an unmoderated forum such as the fine ESPN NBA Message Boards. Yes, quite a bit of intelligent thought being bandied about there, and no post counts. [IMG]

Ultimately it is your choice. There is a reason why this bbs is called a "moderated board".

Ditto 'cept for the "casual" part.

The problem is, you have to ask yourself: if people like Mango and Behad didn't jump down newbies throats from time to time, what would happen to the board?

I personally think it would either:

    a. cause the board itself to deteriorate or
    b. cause the admins a whole lot of trouble

Self-policing means that clutch, jeff, kagy, etc don't have to be too heavy-handed. And in defense of behad and mango, I've never seen them attack someone who didn't have it coming. I mean, they let newbies that make sense right into the board communities. It's the trolling annoyances that get flamed.

BTW, sirhangover... why use invective against DoD if you don't want it used against rockeem? Operate by your own standards :p.

I don't see anything wrong with that.

Nice intro. I can already tell the level of intelligence this post will have... haha.

Let's see... that's 6 lines straight lines of "nothing refuted".

Allow me to educate. The word "newbie" is not derrogatory. It's a term for someone new to something, i.e. this board.

I have no idea what you're babbling about here, so I'll just assume you still have said nothing which my in my opinion would be a safe bet. And ZRB does post intelligent commentary, it's his bi-polar postings that turn people off.

I do. So you still have successfulliy refuted nothing. Seems you are arguing without some facts there, buddy.

Nothing yet... still waiting for the burst of provocative thought that will put me in my place.

    Agreed about the sucky opinions.

    I included junk? Where? [IMG]

You've still to prove me wrong.

I still had nothing? I see the problem. You have a literacy problem. And I see you still have nothing to say... [IMG]

Nope. Never played D&D in my life. Oh, and you've still said nothing and your argument is quickly failing with the personal attacks that damn near hurt my feelings. [IMG]

Aaah, ok. Now we have substance in you. No, I wasn't defending his comments. His mother comments were out of line. I was defending the admonition of a lamer/troll; I agree with that completely. If your entire point is about not using "yer mama" responses to a troll, fine. I can see where you're coming from. If your point is about people with over 1000+ posts all being meanies, I don't know what you're talking about.

    ok.

Boy do I agree, and thanks for backing me up on that one.

I did. You're welcome. Dr of Junk at your service!

I'll edit that line out of my previous post if it makes you feel that bad. Geez. And if you read the board, you know how I am about others using my catch phrases. They're all copyrighted. If you're gonna come at me, at least come with something original, not something I just posted...

Never had any D&D buddies. You're fascinated with D&D aren't you? You sly in-the-closet geek you. [IMG]

Won't happen and deep down inside I know you agree. Hey wouldn't it be cool if you had like 10 guys that are all working together and that you consider jerks? It'd be a circle jerk! Tee hee. [IMG]

Too late to be calmy. Oh, and what was your argument again?

Damn straight and proud of it as my post count clearly shows. GO ROCKETS!!!! [IMG]

LOL! We have a clique now. Diversity shouldn't include stupidity unless it's LHutz!!! Don't confuse "diversity" with "rockeem"'s riot across multiple forums.

No, it's opinion. See, you still haven't figured it out.

The defense rests as there is no case here your honor. Just an angry soul who enjoys D&D and is afraid to admit it.

    *BANG*

    Case dismissed.

...see? I'm a fun guy. Why y'all wanna jump on me?

But you just called this a "moderated board" and cited Behad and Mango for their "attempt at order." The way I understand it, in a moderated board, the moderators / admins are the ones who impose order. Behad and Mango have their heart in the right place, but they could troll hunt whether this board is moderated or no. I haven't seen an official sanction for what they are doing.

Sure it does, because if the boss didn't accept what Mango or Behad had done or said to the point of them being that wrong, they would've been the ones banned or told to back off. Yet it was Rockeem. Huh. Imagine that.

I don't think there was a need for banning anybody. "Ban" is a way too often used term here. Did you read what Clutch wrote when he banned ZRB? He said "Gone. I would say more but he's not worth more than 30 seconds of my time, something some on the BBS should learn." If some people on this board didn't give him so much attention, he wouldn't have trolled in the first place. How many of ZRB's 1800 posts were defending himself in those "Ban ZRB" threads? I know one of my own threads recently deteriorated into another annoying Behad/ZRB fight. You did a good job on the chatroom, DoD, by just putting him on "ignore" (and/or booting him) instead of getting into a fight with him during the game about his posting style.

Same with Rockeem. Wonder why he picked on Behad? Because he knew that Behad would react to it. Really, if you guys just ignore them, the trolls will go away on their own.

Heck, it's gotten to the point where people say "Wrong Forum" in a thread and everyone gets their pants in a wad, even if it was the wrong forum.

The wrong forum stuff is different. I agree that things need to be moved sometimes, although often a little leeway should be used. The titles can be read pretty broadly though (heck, we can even talk about Tracy Murray), so if it were up to me (which it isn't) I would only move threads or even point out the possibility when its an obvious error. Again, this is an entirely seperate point. I do appreciate the attempt, when done kindly, to educate newer posters on where they should put a given thread.

At least you didn't go off on the "post count superiority" thing... lol.

That's a topic for a different day. [IMG]
