I finally got around to throwing together a highlight video for last week's game, but then my video editing program froze up on me and I lost it. I wasn't about to do it all over again, so I just threw together a very simple video with no music or special effects. I apologize ahead of time for its lack of entertainment value. Anyway, I froze the video right after the score keeper messed up, so watch for that. I also put pretty much the whole last couple of minutes in there since at least one person requested it. The link is below... http://www.youtube.com/?v=LEUQ7P2Vtnk By the way, anybody have any info on our game this week? Time OR opponent? For some reason I'm thinking that both the semi-final AND championship games are played this Tuesday, all in one night. Not sure where I saw that, or maybe I didn't. I've been having some pretty f_cked up dreams lately so maybe that's where I got the notion lol.
I guess the YMCA is caught up in the All Star week as well and hasn't updated it's site...man im going to be exhuasted by Tuesday....just getting home..time to get some rest to do it all over again tomorrow.
Just watched the video...god that guy was annoying in the background...sorry your GF had to put up with that Biggie.
I believe he says it when when we have the ball for the game winner. She moves because of the ref, and then he's like "I think you're in our way".
i hope you guys let the score keeper know he phocked up and that he isn't "always right" like he claims to be. he was being such an arrogant SOB about it.
I thought about telling him but not sure how he would react to it....if I was in his position and almost cost a team a win in the playoffs, I wouldnt want to know if I was wrong or right. That being said, Im pretty sure someone will say something to him...
we ought to let it slide. we won the game. however, if we lost from that, then yeah, we got problems. we can flatten his tires.
yea, i don't want anyone to make big scene about it. just like to put him in his place with a non-chalant, "hey, you did mess up the score at half last time." probably best to do it after game, just in case he might want to be vindictive.
it was funny how he was sooooo sure he was right and was being a prick about it. although, he did apologize to me after the game so i guess it ended there. another thing though, i told kerry about it and she said that hes done it before...more than once. it just happened to me this time it could of cost us.
If I were going to say something, I'd probably just dribble over during warm ups or something and say... "Hey, remember last week when we thought you messed up the score? Well, you probably don't want to see the video..." ...then I'd smile and dribble away.
Okay guys. Marcus didn't update the calendar so I called him and we're playing tomorrow at 8:10pm against BAck in The Day. If we win tomorrow night then the championship game will be played in the same night. So be ready guys!!
I imagine there will be a short period of time between the 2 semi games and the final game. Would be very unfair for the 2nd team to go straight into another game that quickly
Maybe I'm speaking for myself here, but I haven't been able to even get close to tiring my body out in a game this season. There are stretches that are tough on my lungs, but the games are too short for my legs to get tired. I'd love to play 2 games in a row...I might actually feel like I got a good run in for once lol.
I think maybe only a couple times i felt tired and i subbed myslef out. Other than that i am used to playing continous games at 24 hour where winner stays on the court so i think i should be fine. maybe for someone like me who is a shooter it will be better as well becuase i might get into a rythm from one game to another. But lets first win game 1 before worrying about game 2.
Hey guys ... we all know the score keeper screwed up last week, but it might make the most sense for not everybody to go up to him and tell him about it. That guy could hurt us with regards to team and personal foul totals if he was motivated. With the team we are going to play, they have a couple of big guys (tall and wide). I know one guy named Brian that is a handful, but then they have a bigger guy that has a really soft touch around the basket. #3 on their team has an awkward drive and a nice 3-pt shot, and their main PG can shoot as well. To me, our main advantage is our guards. We cannot let them turn the game into a half-court game. I think Josh and CCR will be the keys to this game, as far as pressuring the ball handlers and pushing the ball up the court. I think we can even push the ball off of a made basket from our opponents. If we can keep them off balance on defense and always scrambling to pick up defenders - we will be able to get off a lot of uncontested 3's - something Stack, rush, and CCR can hit all day. Things we need to keep in mind: 1. Find out who are their worst free throw shooters - this game could very well turn out to be a FT contest towards the end. 2. Make sure to keep 4 guys lined up when our opponent is shooting FTs. A bad bounce off the rim cost us last week, but if we have 4 guys then we should fare better. 3. When we sub in/out, make sure to get the number of the guy you need to be guarding. Same goes when our opponents substititute. If you don't know who you are guarding - ask, or call a Time Out. We have 5 for the entire game, and as long as we have a couple at the end - we should be alright. We can beat Back in the Day - but it will take a lot of hustle and ball control. We might not have a lot of chances as second chance points, so we need to make sure to limit the situations that may cause TOs to a minimum. As Josh is the best handler on the team, I would really like to see him in the game as much as possible & handling the ball as much as possible. We each have our strengths on this team, and our individual strengths really blend well to make a great team. Its time to show we are not the team that squeeked out a victory against a weaker opponent. We are not the team that went into double OT after allowing our opponents countless chances of tying and beating us. We are the team that will win 2 games tomorrow, based on our intelligence, abilities, and performance.
I have a fever or a cold. I took some nyquill capsules at 2pm today, and still worked. I felt sleepy, and my muscles were feeling soft and lazy. I took some more at eight oclock. I'm getting ready to hit the cat nap.
