I agree. Nearly $50 a person seems like more than enough to get a well-run and competitive league in return. I'd also prefer a league where games don't seem so short due to the running clock, but for scheduling reasons I understand that's easier said than done.

Anyway, considering what I gather from that schedule, I'm really interested to see what lines they feed you tomorrow about this whole "bye week" thing.

Biggie: I hope you aren't taking this personally. I am simply upset with the league and the league only. Hopefully this all gets worked out tomorrow.

I'd be interested to see as well. I have witnesses that saw me pay for the league and I have my CC statement as well, plus I get off at 3pm so I can easily head over there while someone is working. Just to be on the safe side let's make sure we're available to play. I'll call some of the others that haven't responded to the thread in a while.

I wont be able to play tommorow if we do even play.

I need some personal time off. Family thing.

I should be ready to go the rest of the season.

yea I was there when you payed as well as Omega and Kam (because of the car incident). I find it all very interesting and aggrevating but I have faith in Biggie...of course keep us updated.

    LOL! Welcome to the YMCA!

Every time I have ever dealt with any YMCA regarding a league, they ALWAYS screw up. Hell, one time I signed up to coach a few kids I knew and, at the time I was supposed to get my roster and plan practices, I recieved nothing. Not a call or anything. I called them and found out they had no record of me or my kids even though we all went in at the same time and signed up as a team. So, this sounds all too familiar.

That YMCA certainly has some nice facilities, but obviously the same ol' crap management the ohers have.

So what I suspected was the case. Marcus had forgotten to put our team into the schedule so he's going to give us a bye week and reschedule the rest of the teams to have a bye week as well since there is going to be an uneven number of teams now. I believe there will be 9 teams of which only 8 will make it. Next week will be our first game so be ready guys.

I know some of you don't want to play thursday but I play regardless of whether there is a game or not. i just record it. So if any of you guys are interested let me know.

Alright, so next week is our first game. Any idea what time slot we'll be in? Glad everything is somewhat taken care of now.

I'm not sure about Thursday, but I'm not ruling it out.

Yeah he said the calendar should be updated tonight. I spoke to him on the phone this morning. I'm not sure of the time slot but just keep an eye on the calendar.

We'll have more than just us Thursday as I usually play with my buddies. Last week was a bit skim but some of them are coming back into town this week so we should have plenty if you want to join.

    Hey guys,

Sorry for being MIA for a bit i was really busy the last few weeks. I just got back from California Yesterday and i have been keeping up with the league stuff. Im down to play sometime this Thursday even though i want to watch the Rockets game.

Usually i have Monday and Thursdays off but i am changing my days off to Tuesday and Thursdays for the league so I can be there. I will be ready to go for Tuesday and we should have a nice run at it.

I think all of us will be a bit more comfortable and relaxed and play the game we are used to. I won't normally sit down at the 3 point line like we did this season.

I know from everyone that we played a whole different breed of basketball at U of H when we were running against people just a bit bigger or around or size. We can definently be more physical and I know personally i will be doing a lot more work all around the basket and shooting. Im sure the guys i played with at U of H know what im talking about.

Let me know what's going on.

glad to see your alive. it would be good to play thursday and see if we can get a little more into shape before our 1st game. espeically the few that have been too busy to get some basketball into their schedule. I personally like you sitting outside at the 3point line...you and kurt are our best shooters. It makes it pretty easy to fill up the assist stat line when you and him are waiting for the passes outside.

But neways I need all the practice I can get cause I still feel Im a little lost being at PG. Seems like alot of the time I get the ball and everyone just stands and watches...kinda akward feeling at times and with my shot being off lately (which I think was from a badly jammed finger) I need to get some shots in and get confidence back up.

Regardless of everything I said above, Im always ready to play on gamedays and always find myself putting up tear drops over monsters in the middle. :)

Cant wait to get more of the team together for a couple pickup games. Seems like its been a while.

Yeah, I'm leaning more and more toward coming out on Thursday. I'll just DVR the game and watch it later that night I guess. As much as I enjoy Rockets games, I realize how important it is to get some court time with you guys before Tuesday.

Stack, I'm with you on the camping on the perimeter stuff. I realize I'm a threat from outside, but when I sit out there all day long I feel useless on the offensive boards and I feel like the offense can get stagnant. Then on top of everything, I feel like a ballhog when my shots aren't falling, but then again when we're playing against giants that's pretty much our only hope a lot of the times.

I've actually been roughly this same height since 7th grade, so back then I was bigger than everyone else. I grew up as a post player and didn't shoot threes at all really. In fact, even as late as my freshman year in high school I only shot 5 threes all season. That's when my coach told me that if I wasn't going to grow anymore, I would have to move to guard and I'd have to develop a shot. So, ever since then my game has moved to the perimeter, but I still feel like I should be mixing it up down low because that's how I learned the game. Hopefully the guys we play this time around will make that possible and I can help some more on the boards and post defense.

yea I think we all are better interior players than what we looked like in the last league....all of us. I like to think of my self as a sura type player, as Ive said before. The rebounding, inconsistent shot, and attitude. :D

Very same scenario as me. I was always a post get under the boards type player and i stopped growing so i went with more of a perimiter game against taller people but with my height opponents i do a lot more...which we will all get a chance to display in the D league.
