I'd do it without hesitation with Lopez under current rookie salary. Otherwise....

I would fricking feel bad for Yao, after all these years of contribution and suddenly traded for a sophomore... Did Lopez and Yao met each other in games yet? Any stats?

Opponents are still leaving Yi wide open and he doesn't make those shots often. His shots look very flat and hits either the front or the back of the iron.

Age is an issue too now. Yao is 28?

Hate to say it - but yes I would do that.

Maybe get Yi somehow to keep our share of the China market.

Well he still did get 8 FT's, which means he is being aggressive.

Love how people were labeling Yi a bust only 80 or so games into his NBA career. People have hummingbird-like attention spans.

well I tell you what I got demoted to rookie for making that thread. And all ya'll folks laughed at me when I made the McGrady to all-star game threads (now he's #2 in the West guards), and ya'll teared me up for making the get Pops thread, which we did.

    ps. Vote McGrady. Vote NOW!

    yi have been playing great.

But the nets are the bad. Their guards over dribble every single time up the floor. the only time they pass the ball is when they are trapped or the shot clock is running down. that video of how rafer does not run the pick and roll properly, i mean rafer was prob one of their better guards lol.

Harris is great, a great scoring point guard along with dooling, CDR and lee. But they are damn selfish. All they do is look for their own shots. Lopez can have great post position and they would ignore him

    Lopez unhappy with Nets benching

    http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/142130-lopez-unhappy-with-nets-benching?eref=fromSI

Brook Lopez literally jumped off the Nets bench with six seconds still left in the game and ran to the locker room as the 98-76 beating was concluding. And when the media reached that locker room a half-hour later, Lopez was gone again - electing not to stick around to discuss his performance, for a very good reason: Which is why he's still dodging what is becoming obvious lately: The Nets are starting to neglect his development for the purpose of getting Yi Jianlian going.

Why not? Lopez is the best young center in the league who is only going to get better. I love Yao but you can't argue with his injury history.

Yi is sooooo bad.... All empty, selfish stats...

    2 assists in 300 minutes...

Zero basketball IQ...He would fail every advanced statistical analysis known to man. I would love to see Yi and Eddy Curry play together, lol. Worst frontcourt of all time...

Most of Yi's points were in garbage time. He was shooting a pretty bad percentage before the Hawks rested their starters. He still has trouble grabbing onto rebounds and gets the ball stripped away ala Yao. I don't think he's even good enough to be a starter right not really since his defense is terrible.
