Wayne Campbell: So, do you come to Milwaukee often? Alice Cooper: Well, I'm a regular visitor here, but Milwaukee has certainly had its share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers began visiting here in the late 16th century. Pete: Hey, isn't "Milwaukee" an Indian name? Alice Cooper: Yes, Pete, it is. In fact , it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land." Wayne Campbell: I was not aware of that.
I personally wouldnt want to, but it has nothing to do with Milwaukee being a crappy place....I hate snow and Love Texas. Its just a short drive to Chicago from there, and if you cant find what you want in Chicago...you cant get it easily anywhere. as for the e-penii swinging contest going on in here...all I got to say is especially moreso to yet another idiot rookie opening his mouth and proving the open registration was probably a bad idea.(the one that can tell that we are all skinheads just from readin our writing)
does Yi understand that NBA players are millionaires and they can buy houses anywhere? example: Latrell Sprewell lives on a yacht, apparently its cool enough for Spree. And Yi isn't as cool as Spree. Sprewell's yacht freed Ex-NBA star's boat gets stuck off Atwater Beach By ERIN RICHARDS erichards@journalsentinel.com Posted: Aug. 10, 2006 A tugboat managed to free former NBA star Latrell Sprewell's yacht Thursday afternoon from shallow water near Atwater Beach, where the boat had been grounded since the previous night. Milwaukee's Best, a 68-foot vessel owned and operated by Sprewell, of River Hills, was spotted in trouble Wednesday about 8 p.m., when police were notified the boat had drifted from its anchor and lodged in about 3 feet of water close to shore, said Sgt. Don Jensen from the city's Harbor Patrol. "Our guys worked on it for about three or four hours," Jensen said. Although the police had joined forces with Coast Guard crews, they never got the yacht to budge. "We're the pros out there," Jensen added. "If we can't get them out, they're definitely stuck." Jensen said Sprewell had dropped anchor in a part of Lake Michigan notorious for shifting sands and variable depths, and the yacht had drifted aground Wednesday night, helped along by seven to 14 mph winds. Jensen told Sprewell that he would have to stay on his boat and call a private tow service in the morning. Jerry Guyer, owner of Pirate's Cove Diving, said he worked until 5 a.m. aboard The Lender to move the yacht but couldn't free it, either. "We got Dan Anderson out with his fish tug, Jolene, and he pulled Latrell's anchor out, probably sometime between 1 and 2 p.m.," Guyer said. By 5 p.m., the Milwaukee's Best was back at its usual mooring at the marina. Sprewell, who attended high school in Milwaukee, could not be reached for comment Thursday. he can live on Spree's boat if he's too scared to hang with the locals.
Are you saying that the local players have the right to b****, whine and diss the small markets but the foreigners don't? You sound as xenophobic as one can get in this post.
Well actually you make a really good point there. All Yi has to do is get a condo or something for days he's in Milwaukee. It's an 82 game season or rougly so it's only like half the year unless you make the playoffs. He's going to be going home to China anyways. If his parents come here like Yao's..they can get a house in Milwaukee for the NBA season and live in Houston, LA or South Beach in the offseason. Still, it is half a year of enduring Milwaukee.
There's plenty of wildlife in Milwaukee. His family can create new sensational dishes like Kung Pao Deer or General Tsao's squirrel
http://www.milwaukee.org/static/index.cfm?action=group&contentID=218 The results of the 2000 U.S. Census revealed a watershed moment in our city’s history. For the first time, more than half of our residents identified themselves as non-white. Milwaukee became a “majority-minority” city. And a symbol of the multicultural America to come. Of course, we are no stranger to diversity. Milwaukee owes much to African Americans, American Indians, Asian Americans and Hispanic Americans who have helped shape our past and who will define our future. Now more than ever, different ethnicities, customs, religions and ideas energize our city and enrich our social and economic prosperity. These are truly exciting times for us. We at VISIT Milwaukee invite you to experience a city alive with the laughter, creativity and savvy of people from many different walks of life. Come celebrate the unique cultural traditions and common human aspirations that intertwine to benefit our community every day. Come, take a look at all we have to offer – and see us through new eyes. Because the face of Milwaukee is changing. Always has. Always will.
If Yi is traded to Philadelphia, he, his reps, and the Chinese gov't will regret it. It could destroy his career. The Philly fans are brutal and Im convinced Yi is not that good. Vs. Milwaukee - a town that nobody notices and where people are very friendly and laid back. Big Mistake.
Everyone thinks the Chinese guy can't play. Let me see..does anyone think number 5 or number 7 is gonna suck? What a bunch of Bullcapoppies~
Deer is ok, but stay away from squirrel, that cute animal is the good source of plague and SARS. I am serious.
