Yi Jianlian traded to New Jersey for Richard Jefferson

Bucks needs to trade Redd. That guy was part of their down fall for ball hogging.

I think the Bucks will still draft Alexander for the small forward spot. This probably signals the end of Micheal Redd in a Bucks uniform though.

 

I think with this lineup, a draft pick, and a good new coach, the Bucks have a real shot at the playoffs. In the East, you're always one move away. If they're really shopping Redd, then a great deal might put them over the top. But I really don't see them getting fair return on Redd, except for maybe two very good contributors (Mike Miller + pick + Conley, or something like that). But they probably won't get one player that floats around his talent level. Still, that new GM knows what he's doing.

I still say Bill Simmons would have been more fun.

 

If the Nets can somehow convince Lebron to go there they are instant contenders.

That sounds about right. Jay-Z and lebron James. Add in Yi and you have the BIGGEST Chinese market.

 

I have to believe this was a pure financial decision for the Nets. Get Yi into a big market, exploit the China connection financially like Houston does, drop Jefferson's deal off the books. $42 out, $36.1 million incoming (assuming they fully extend Yi). In 3 years, they pay only Yi $4 mill versus $15M to Jefferson.

Bucks have a stud swingman rotation now with Redd, Jefferson, and Mason. They also wash their hands of the Yi drafting mistake. If they figure out their 4 position, they'll be in the playoffs.

wow - terrible trade for the Nets, RJ has more value than that.

 

They are lessor version of us. They can try to be us but at best a cheap clone.

 

I just found out that Jefferson was drafted by the Rockets.

Was there a good reason why we traded him? Carroll Dawson messed us up big time.
