Anyone that has seen any video of Yi can tell you that he isn't Wang Zhizhi with some ballhandling. I don't think Kukoc was anywhere nearly as athletic as Yi.

Now Howard is gone. Can we make a trade for him such that we can maintain our dominance in the Chinese market? ;)

Well, that article is NOT China Daily's original. It is a reprint from some other news agency.....probably Associated Press or some other....

    NBA.com Blog: Yi Jianlian

The Finals, Draft Day, and More...
Posted by Yi Jianlian on June 14, 2007, 10:00 p.m. ET

Why the Spurs lead by three
First of all, the way they play doesn’t change. Secondly, this is already the Spurs’ fourth NBA Finals in nine years, so their players have a lot of experience. For example, the "Big Three": Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili know each other very very well. Last but not least, the Spurs’ solid defense made them unbeatable.
If I were the coach of the Cavaliers
Well, I’ve never been a coach so I’m not an expert on this. But LeBron took his team to the NBA Finals for the first time, meaning they already play very well. And I think that although the Cavaliers really want to win this series, the Spurs are just too good for them to defeat.

    NBA going international
The NBA is going international, as you can see with more players coming into the league who were born outside of the United States…and their roles are getting bigger. Just look at the Spurs’ ‘big three’: Duncan, Parker and Ginobili, they’re all international players and they each have a huge role to play for the Spurs. The "Big Three" led the team to three NBA championships and now they have a chance to win their fourth, so you can say that all these international players are making the NBA even better.

    Parker, Finals MVP?
I think Parker did a tremendous job for the first two games. If Spurs win the title, Parker has a very good chance at getting MVP.

    My Finals prediction
    Spurs in six.

    English time
After posting this blog, I have to go to my English lessons. I think my English is getting better, but there is still a long way to go.

    About my training
Right now, my daily training is about two hours long. I’m concentrating on special teams and strength training. I weighed myself recently and I’ve put on 10 more pounds, which I’m happy about.

    June 28th---Draft Day
The June 28th Draft day is about two weeks away and to be honest I’m not nervous, it’s all very exciting. If I’m concerned about anything, it would be which team will pick me.

    My Favorite Player
I pay more attention to the players who play the same position as I do, Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett are my favorite players. Recently, I heard a lot of people debating on who the best No.4 in NBA history is: Karl Malone or Tim Duncan. In my opinion, they are both great players but they’re from a different era. Karl Malone retired couple years ago, and they didn’t play against each other for very long. Also, their styles are different, so I really don’t think they are comparable.

    About the Summer League
Fans are curious about which team (Chinese National Team or NBA team) I’ll play for during the Summer League. I can tell you now, that I’ll play for the Chinese National Team.

Thank you for all my fans

Thank you everyone for all your support. I hope you can keep supporting me in the upcoming Draft, where I’ll hopefully join a team that I fit in well with.

Frankly, I think Wang Zhizhi was a pretty good offensive player in the NBA. I remember watching him score something like 12 points in a 10 minute stint one game when all the Miami big guys were injured and they went to overtime...

but he probably gave up 20 points to his man during the same stretch...

The man was the most horrible defensive player in the history of the NBA. He was unbelievably bad on D.

    Yi Jianlian's blog on nba.com........

Dan Fegan must have hired a pretty good writer or translator to write something like that. Most probably translate from something that Yi Jianlian wrote or spoke.

NO WAY Yi Jianlian's written English can be this good.

MacGreat...What is your problem with pryuen? He is doing all of us a favour by posting articles...no matter if it is translations or orginal articles...but I don't see you doing **** all for us on this board. I really had enough of you attacking pryuen personally...we are here to discuss Yi's draft situation.

Pryuen keep up with your good work....greatly appreciated.

Ok, MacGreat, now you shot pryuen, you got step up to the plate. Go ahead post/translate some articles yourself. Either TMac or Yao would be fine.

Oops you can't, can you? It is always easy to be critical of someone else.

Dude... with timely articles you always bear the risk of having questionable sources. If Pryuen is spending time to translate articles, I don't see any harm in reading about speculation. It really is what keeps our days interesting during the offseason anyways, particularly when wheeling and dealing has yet to really start.

Don't hate, appreciate... If you really feel so strong about it. Then just don't read his posts. No need to drive him away and ruin it for the rest of us.
