I just bought 2 cds today. Sage Francis' new one, and Bill Hicks Rant in e minor both seem really good
Can you tell me 2 things: 1) Is it like Sea Change or more like Odelay or like Midnight Vultures or completely different? 2) When will it be available for those of us who don't have friends of a friend?
heh...me too.... Its all about the Sirius radio these days... so in the interests of actually responding with something of substance for this thread instead of a smartass comment(see above)....I put in a CD that I also just got when I arrived at work(which is the only place I dont exclusively listen to my sat radio) Rant in e minor -- Bill Hicks
more like odelay (same guys produced it) except it has lots of wierd 80's video game sounds on the stuff ive heard. there is a song called "que onda guero" (whats up whitey). definately not like sea change. i think the album comes out in late march-early april. if you have rhapsody you can listen to a few of the singles.
Gwen Stefani - Love, Angel, Music, Baby. That’s right biotch! The Police – Every Breath You Take: The Classics Nuggets: Original Artyfacts from the First Psychedelic Era 1965-1968
Man! I am so jealous! I kind of had a feeling Beck would get back to the party music! Sea Change was something he just had to get out of his system. Beautiful record though.
Alvin Lucier – “I am sitting in a room” Dj Food – Raiding the 20th Century (WORDS & MUSIC Expansion featuring PAUL MORLEY) Tracy Morgan @ 610 Bob Marley – “Legend” Peter Tosh – “Leagalize It” Various – “Tougher than Tough – The Story of Jamaican Music”
People still listen to CD players? That's so 2003. Dashboard Confessional - The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most O.A.R. - 34th and 8th Phish - Undermind Phish - Phish Live: Volumes, uhhhhhh, 1 through 15. Wilco - A Ghost Is Born The Black Crowes - Amorica BTW, for you Dave Matthews Band fans, check out the song "Delicate Few" by O.A.R, as it sounds EXACTLY like a DMB song (and a good one at that).
If you like classical music, jazz music (mainly hard bop and fusion), hard rock, heavy metal, indie rock, alternative rock, classic rock, techno/electronica, some industrial, blues, new wave ('80s one hit wonders), then I think you are right! But don't tell me that you like hard core country or bluegrass music - I can't stand those 2 types of music.
that chameleons - return of the roughnecks queens of the stone age - lullabies to paralyze the replacements - pleased to meet me wedding present - seamonsters black keys - rubber factory matthew sweet - rarities & b-sides bootleg
wanna hear the new beck jams? a few tunes are up on jambase rhapsody and they have a month for free deal right now. http://rhapsody.jambase.com its a month-long deal that probably started feb 1, so you only have thru the month rather than a full one. when i did it i only got like 4 or 5 days, but it was enough to convince me. ive been subscribing to this for 2 years now and its been $9.95/month the whole time. its great if you work infront of a computer all day. thousands of albums available as streaming audio (much better than mp-3 quality). you cant do free downloads though - i think its 79 cents, though ive never downloaded from there. they pretty much have everything you can think of except the beatles and led zep. entire dylan catalogue, miles davis, coltrane, stones, who, floyd, vu, all of those trojan box sets (especially enjoy the dub) sorry to sound like a commercial or something, but i do enjoy the rhapsody. check it out, you can at least listen to some beck. im on the road for work today and am taking new order - power corruption and lies beck - mutations (good driving music) rough guide to music of mali and guinea (compilation of all different kinds of stuff - afro-pop, traditional folk, fela-style funk, kora (african harp) music manitoba - up in flames. described as brian wilson doing smile on a laptop.
