4 years as a pro, he is entering his 5th year as a professional basketball player.

He has had 4 years of DEDICATION where basketball was his job, the GLeaugue was a professional year of development.

NO MORE ****ING EXCUSES for him, put up or shut up.

Great player with potential to be multiple-time All Star. Will help his team be competitive.

Not a superstar (top 5-7 player in NBA) and probably will never be one.

Cannot be a #1 option on a championship team. Period.

Edit: you're an idiot if you call him a bust and you're either dishonest or in denial if you think he's a superstar.

Not at all, only one season from the time he was 19 to 34 did Kobe have fewer win shares every individual season than Jalen has in 3 years combined... you know, because Jalen Green is a dogshit player and Kobe was a 2 way HOFer.

Consistency is what separates the good players from the GREAT players. Jalen just hasn’t shown that consistency. He’s shown flashes of greatness, but not at a consistent level. To me the jury is still out. Those years with Silas have to be taken into account as well IMO. I’ll say give him this season to show if he’s made that jump and is consistently producing. If not, then adios partner.

I hope DD got a look at this. This shows that Jalen, with hard work, is pretty much on par with Kobe Bean type production. He doesn't have to be Kobe to almost match what he brought to the team.

If we had ime and an actual pg instead of kpj cosplaying as one from the getgo the front office would have a better grasp on who to extend. Wasted 2 years and screwed over smith, sengun and green development.

hopefully our youngsters take it to the next level, green especially.

One in five (~20%) still see him as a star according to the poll.

I wonder what they are watching?

Started one game that 2nd season for the Lakers. People wanted him in the slam dunk championship.

There was nothing special about Kobe in his first 3 years. He was slow compared to Jalen Green and
Jalen Green could do all the dunks Kobe could do.

Kobe just took advantage of better teammates and coach/system

No clue, could be that they just don't understand what they are seeing when they try to watch basketball.

Too much social media for him to actually become great.

Be more mamba, less tweeting = more successful.

Truthfully, it has nothing to do with his consistency or lack thereof. I know exactly why some here don't like Jalen Green. They are just afraid to admit it so now I'm going to force them to do so.
It's that dam nail polish I'm telling you! It's a mental thing. I get it. It drives me crazy too. If it were not for that nail polish you guys would have a softer stance and like others on here would be willing to give him another season to show and prove.

Seriously though, you should delete this thread and remake it properly. It's not very useful when "superstar" and "bust" are the only two real options. I do think it would be interesting to get the spread of opinions on Jalen right now, but we need more than two options.

The reason the whole thing was done was because someone said that the majority saw Jalen as a superstar on the rise and challenged me to make a poll about it. Unfortunately, I did a rush job while driving and it turned out poorly....apparently you can't edit poll options after you initially submit them without the final option just repeating over and over again.

Either way, the poll showed pretty much what I thought it would, it's a relative few who actually believe Jalen is a superstar player on the rise and that more believe he's looking like a bust with the vast majority somewhere in the middle or unsure.

I think I'll let it stand as is and just do another version of this in December.

I don't think this poll quite accurately gauge how folks are feeling about green. It'd quite sht to b honest.

It goes from one extreme to another and the middle ground is unsure.

Is he a bust? Fk no. is he a superstar? fk no.
Folks R now forced to pick unsure? That's something u ask to folks who arent even following the Rockets not for the folks participating on this forum frequently.

if i can get 2 future first round picks, one in 26 and the other in a later year, plus a pick swap in our favor next summer, plus expiring deal salaries for he and brooks...i do it now

if i can't get that now, i give him the ball from the beginning next season..play fred off the ball...and make sure his numbers go through the roof by spacing the floor with alp in the corner or take alp out and run jabari at 5 and shooters at the 4,3, and 1..hand jalen the keys and make sure his numbers are through the roof...then when i get 3 picks and a swap next summer i trade him to a lottery team like charlotte...for expiring contracts and perhaps a moveable future contract.

And all-star every season from his 4th onwards.....

Perhaps Kobe is an unhelpful comparison! Green will never be in the same stratosphere as a player.
