Hey look, the guy probably was fiddling with his pockets and looked really nervous, might have been sweaty, and probably made people around him uncomfortable. None of that gets reported. Nor does the fact that millions of Arab-looking passengers have flown airlines without any problem. So look, if once in a while an innocent person is inconvenience - that's not a big deal. No harm done. Better that then to risk the loss of life. You and others here have lost all sense of priorities here. If I did something weird that freaked people out and was restrained for it....I would accept that...and then accept the apology that came afterwards. No harm done. And if someone did something weird and made me worry - hey, better safe then sorry...and if I was wrong, I would apologize. Let's all work to be safe togethr, and drop the sensitivity - geez!
What do you mean probably? There is zero evidence to support this. Just you making up ideas that he was fidgety and nervous. It has already been rehashed what information we do have. His tan made him appear Arab looking, he had an ipod, he used the restroom. If once in a while an innocent person is inconvenienced because of their race it most certainly is a big deal. Acceptance of it is an even bigger deal. If you are harrassed because of your race and don't do anything about it, then that is your decision. Don't pretend like the guy did anything strange, because there is no evidence to suggest that. If you did something strange and were harrassed is entirely different than if you looked Arab-like and were harrassed for that reason.
ugh. this entire post is disgusting. let's see... "maybe", "may have been", "maybe" again, and then "probably". why don't you just rewrite the entire article for us please? i feel like i'm in elementary school at the bookfair buying one of those "madlib" books. drop the sensitivity? i'm gonna go out on a limb here and say that you're "probably" (get it? probably? i made a funny) a native new yorker. i know that five years is not enough to get over the tragedy that happened there, but it seems as if you're the one being overly sensitive, that you're willing to live out of a george orwell book, and you wouldn't mind the slightest bit if your wife or child was put into a headlock after doing absolutely nothing. that is WRONG. nevermind.
If whitey tries to blow-up the plane, nobody will notice before they are all blown up because everyone is looking at the Arab looking college student playing with his Ipod.
Damn right I'm defending the action. And no, it doesn't work both ways. If he is a terrorist, the sorry option results in a blown up plane. If he's not, the sorry option results in some hurt feelings. Boo F-ing Hoo.
It's funny that you are resorting to lying about facts again, to "make your point". I dared you in the shrine visit thread to back up your words to quote me that I called you names. Instead of backing yourself up, you accused me of not man enough to own up to it. Here I am daring you, again, to quote me that I ever called you a Japanese facist or Japanese anything. I guess "again" implies there was first time. Go ahead, and be man enough to own up to it. Now, I am the ignorant one. Carry on. It's fun to watch.
there is no evidence to say he didn't. No ones knows what he did on that plane. I'm simply not passing judgment. You are jumping to conclusion by saying the passengers must be racist. Now, let me ask you - why doesn't this happen to every Arab-looking person? Why only once in a while? Think about it!
well there is proof.. it is reported by the airline representatives ALL the reasons WHY he was suspected.. and NONE of your assumptions are included..
so next time you fly are you going to tackle any dark skinned people who try to use the bathroom or listen to music? do these things constitute suspicious behavior in a post 9/11 world?
nice! it was getting a little lonely in here even though he has me on ignore, its still alot of fun responding to his posts. ignore lists are for cowards!
