    then I do this:
    C:\>cd..
    and I get this:
    C:\>
    and then I do this:
    c:\>deltree c:

    and I get...

    AAAAAAARRGHHH!!!!

    msconfig does exist in Windows XP.

    thanks for the correction bobrek...I dont use XP and the short time I was on a machine that had it..I didnt look for it.

    just for the record, chenzhen gave you accurate information. As long as you are SURE you are in a RUN hive then you have nothing to worry about deleting really any entries in the folders. Also, just for your peace of mind, windows 98 keeps at least the last 5 good registries backed up if you do screw your current one up. Finally, just think of it this way, those run folders are just the same as the msconfig GUI. No diifference.
