How much can he make from the shoe company? I mean aside from tmac's huge addias contract and influence in china, do other shoe companies make good profits there? How's shane battier and chuck hayes shoe advertising doing in china? Good I hope? :D

I think most of us were calling Bonzi fat ass Bonzi because we knew... the talent was there....but the drive wasnt there... ie: coming to camp overweight...

I doubt anyone thought Bonzi was a bust... just busting out of his belt....

its good to see he is finally working into shape... and nice to see someone who can actually create for himself... and dunk the ball other than Tmac or Yao....

im glad to see JVG wasnt so stubborn as to run Bonzi out of town... now lets see if this is all show or not... and Bonzi wants to stay....next year...

Agreed. I think the number of people who were "wrong" about Bonzi is being spectacularly overblown here... mostly, all everyone was saying was that it was pitiful he wasn't working harder to get himself into shape. Even now, I still think it's sad that he can get paid that much, and yet he had to be put into the doghouse to stop requesting to "play his way into shape." Be a little professional, will you? You're not so special that you don't have to work hard enough to be in shape, pal...
Nearly every NBA player is an egomaniac, but I believe with Bonzi it's even more so. But for now, he helps us a lot on the court... so that's fine by me. In fact, he's doing what we've been needing T-Mac to do all along: ATTACKING THE RIM!!!

Bonzi may very well be the bull dog of this team. It used to be Bob Sura and Mike James, well now i think Bonzi can be that guy.

I probably took the most flak for being a bonzi supporter. Glad he's proving me right.

I think everyone was sure he had talent and could contribute but the main question was if he was willing. And now i gotta swallow up my pride and say:

IM OFFICIALLY ON THE BONZI BANDWAGON!!! :D

Bonzi can get into shape, but he should some keep those extra carbohydates in his butt. They are almost Barkelyeque if you aks me, but without Chucky's disturbing postures :D .

Bonzi can flat out score. He brings variation to the Rockets offence. I sincerely hope he doesnt "explode too much" when T-Mac comes back, because he would be a bargain for MLE.

i was wrong. i never thought he and JVG would reconsile. i was sure that he'd played his last game and would be traded.

now he is back and getting into shape. he looks better every game.

hopefully he can start to carry the scoring load that tmac left.

I was slowly coming around to the the Bonz bandwagon this last week and climbed up and tryed to sit in with the long time Bonzi fans during the Spurs game. I told the Bonz believers, sorry I'm late, but the evidence I saw over the last few years led me to believe we were getting a large surley malingerer. I did not see his playoff games last year, and don't remmember him ever looking very good against the Rocks. Also, the was a lot written about a bad attitude.
    Wrong.
Man, this guy looks good. I like the passing skilles and aptitude, the rebounding, and the smile that says I like my teamates and I am glad I am here. I expected the good midrange and post up offense. I did not expect him to start with the nice words for his coach.

Honestly I think JVG was wrong about Bonzi -- should have been out there much sooner this season.

Bonzi WAS a ****** to start the season, we saw how he was when he was in. That WAS NOT the same player that we are seeing now.

He had a bad shooting night in Portland, but overall he looks much more mobile... At least he can jump high enough to make a proper dunk now. That WAS NOT possible before..

Seems what happened was that a decision was made, after seeing how badly he played early in the season while in his ****** mode, to keep him off the floor until he's in shape (so he doesn't hurt the team, and doesn't have to save his legs for the game while he ride his bike), then Bonzi got unhappy about it, which started kind of a feud, but later he got in shape and called the coach, and it was decided to give him a run.

He looks fine now and I'm overall impressed with his play and his unselfishness on court, but what happened still happened.

Bonzi wasn't that overweight and he certainly wasn't 'fat' -- JVG was stubborn and didn't like his attitude - these are the main reasons he wasn't on the floor.

Anyone enjoy watching our team's chemistry as much as I am? As much as Bonzi's been maligned for being a cancer or a troublemaker in the past, it does seem that JVG has turned him around a bit. Obviously it's still very early but the one trademark of JVG Rockets teams so far is how much fun our guys have and how much they support one another. Bonzi seems to have bought into the team philosophy and is enjoying himself out on the court. Definitely a good thing for us and a bad thing for our opponents.
