PJ still looks effective out there, but the rest is pretty cool

PJ wasn't looking like himself in a while. I see people blowby past him, committing stupid fouls etc. And his game on offense shrink to amateur league level where he is the fat kid that stands in one place and can make a shot when open but nothing else. Like nothing at all. And I love PJ but seriously guy is too old at this point and can net us some assets

    He doesn't fit.

    Haha.

I remember people talking nonsense about PJ since the day he got here.

And I'll say the same thing now as I said then.

PJ's value comes when it's winning time in big situations.

Which means to most people he won't seem that great since that situation is not every second of the regular season.

There's a reason why you go back and watch our tight games in the playoffs, big plays are always happening around PJ.

Now if you want to say PJ shouldn't be a 35 minute PF on our team - agreed.

To say he doesn't fit on a team contending (which was the hypothesis in the comment you tagged) is just utter nonsense.

Love the enthusiasm DD and I really do hope you're right. I think PJ still has some use though he hasn't been a stopper for a year now and has probably lost half a step but he's still the most consistent perimeter defender on the team and him being out there organising the defense, getting both his own rotations and everyone else's rotations right is still very valuable for our team defense.

Would love for someone like Nwaba or Tate to eventually pick up these habits and skills and replace PJ's role by the end of the season.

    Hahahaha.

I'm honestly SHOCKED people give Stone all this credit for 'cleaning up Morey's mess'.

I wonder if they realise the guy who taught Stone everything he knows is....

    Naaaah why use common sense.

this is weird, a positive post from you, now that westbrook is gone.

its good to hear you being optimistic.....caboclo loos great too, a steal for what he brings.

we're a good team, but lets be honest, not championship level calibur.

If Jasean tate could develop a nice 3 ball that would be huge. in the playoffs they'll make him shoot.

Boogie looks good on offense, but he'll be exposed on defense. he can't guard the pick and roll, nor switch everything. He's a back up, a situational player in the playoffs.

Tucker is geting old, but still our best 3 and D forward,

wall not playing on back to backs. how will his body hold up in the playoffs?

we need a back up point guard.

and a great 3 and D wing, but we just traded covington.

harden knows we're not championship level, so he will be traded and looking for a team that will give him another 4-5 years on a max contract extension.

that's what its all about. tilman only wanted to extend him 2 more years at 50 million.

But i love wood, he was making LA look old out there. what a steal.

Yeah I like to see someone matchup correctly with Anthony Davis
Instead of someone he can shoot over every time.

PJ is a very good option to have at PF. Between Woods and Cousins, who guards LeBron if the Lakers go small?

I don’t think regularly playing with two bigs on the court is a great idea in the modern game.

    1. Plethora is a negative word.
    2. The whole league - for years - has wanted bigs who can shoot (and not be so terrible defensively that they can’t play).
    3. I have this new concept of an ideal player who is a wing but can defend AND shoot well. I’m going to coin the term right now - a 3&D player! See - it rhymes so is cool but it is also descriptive of the skill set. And sounds like 3D which is like the future! I think my term has legs...

There are rules regarding the allowable length of extensions.

Basically, after the extension, the total remaining length of the contract can't exceed 5 years. That includes option years.

Harden has two years remaining on his contract plus a third year with a player option. That means that the longest extension that Harden can receive this season is two years.

    Next season he'd be eligible for a 3 year extension (2 remaining years + 3 extended years = 5).

The offer the Rockets made was the largest allowed under the current CBA.

I am curious to see how Wood will do against real, bigger centers. He looks promising, but he is rail thin, so I am a little worried about strength and durability.

PJ does indeed look a tad out of place out there now. Camping in the corner isn’t going to work on this offense.

He's been right about some of those white boys. Redick comes to mind.

Yeah. I think the better way to say it is that he hasn't been a consistently good basketball player. He has his moments.
