Can I see this movie in Austin or is it only being released in Houston and other pro-Yao markets?

I wonder how many special screenings there are on Thursday at 7:30 around the Houston area. There is the one at Dunvale and then there is the one at Edwards that I am going to. I wonder how many other places are offering special screenings.

That's the key. NBA Entertainment. Not serious in-depth story telling or investigative reporting. So what? People will enjoy it nevertheless for the *fun* of it.

Again, this is not about nitpicking whether it's the true definition of "documentary." Ya understand?

What is the purpose of your post? To make yourself look like you have a chip on your shoulder about some slight you took 3 years ago? You're doing a great job.

Just retuning sarcasm with sarcasm. Kinda like most of your post. You can ask to change your moniker. But it really doesn't change much.

As far as doing a great job. Thanks! I try.

    Making fun of? Hmmm....really?

Only if you held the film at at higher standards to begin with. Which you clearly did.
Hence your use of the word, "documentary" in quotes (film critic-esque and all).

What's funny is that you make these conclusions even when film was created mainly for entertainment purposes; a voyeuristic view of the life of Yao. Not for some great attempt of the director at creating a "documentary" for the sake of some Cannes Film Festival award. I mean, geeesh! Catch a clue!

Kinda like the time when you got in your head that Yao *should* play a some preordained level; underestimated or overestimated (you set the standards). Then when that level doesn't happen, you judge everything on *that* standard then think that everyone eles had made the same conclusion.

    Achem.....you're doing it again.

How did we get to the Cannes Film Festival? And not the Yao argument again and again and again and again, why do you insist of beating a dead horse, can't you see you need to take things with a grain of salt and know that people are sometimes tongue-in-cheek???? Perhaps you'd benefit from a little give and take, or just buying into a peace offering. I mean, we don't have to see eye to eye, but c'mon, can't you see i am busting ya balls and rattling your cage for amusement and you're letting me get your goat? Stop being wound up so tightly....geez.

What I'm saying is this is getting tired...hint hint hint.

NY, the Canns reference was in light of your sarcasm that this film should have been better. It wasn't to be taken literally (By the way, do you purposely overlook the meaning of a post then ask, "How did we get on this topic? Or are you just playing dumb?"). The Yao argument is just an example of how you like to set the standard of what's good even if your conclusion turns out to be wrong (credibility; which you lack).

My point and others is that the film is just a fun film to see for the Yao fan; and mostly for the causal fan (non-NBA fan). Nothing more, nothing less.

Yet, you call it "cheesy?" Why? I mean, it's already been established that it irritates you that Yao gets soo much attention in Houston (Prefered he went to NY?). So, it's no wonder why you wouldn't give this film a chance even before you saw it. You go out of your way to critzise Yao and the Rox even when there's little possibility of those improvements actually occurring so soon.

It's almost like you have this Anti-Houston envy towards anything good that happens to this city. But pretend to be pro-Houston.

Do people tell you that you have a tendency to obsess about things a bit too much? Maybe take things a bit too seriously?

As long as you continue to post skewed conclusions. And I will continue to point them out anytime you post. It's called debate. Don't come here if you want people to agree with you. You should know that by now (this is a BBS about the Rox; a microcosm of the real world).

P.S. I've been told that I obsess about the Rockets more now than when I was in Houston. And that's obvious! So, "obsess about things?" Only sports. Just like a Red Sox or Yankee fan.

I don't want you to agree with me, might be nice if you didn't put words in my mouth, but I understand that it's the only way you can debate....is to debate with yourself. I never said the film needed to be better for instance, that's your skewed conclusion about what I wrote. I never said I am a knicks fan, again, your skewed conclusion. This is why I don't "debate" you, because it's not a debate, it's a grudge match, and you have some weird issue from 3 years ago that you can't let go. It's tiring and ruins the experience of this bbs to be hounded by someone constantly on the stupiest most petty things. Please grow up or go away.

It's not some specific date three years ago. It's about most of your post since you joined. It's your post history. I hound YOU because what what you say and think. I don't like fake Houston fans or wishy-washy posters.

So, if you don't want to be hounded? Put me on your ignore list if you like. I'll still rebut your posts.
