BINGO. I think everyone agrees that Rafer needs to improve his shot. But he isn't the problem. He was at his best when we actually had a team on the floor, averaging nearly 10 assists a game in that stretch after the all star break. He does something that we have really lacked for such a long time -- he brings the ball up quicker than almost any other PG I've seen in this league, gets everybody into a play, and passes the ball. I've always loved having Rafer on this team and I thought he got a lot of unfair criticism for the Rocket's poor performance last year. It was interesting to note that towards the end of the season, there were some games in which he became more assertive as an offensive option rather than as a playmaker (probably by coach's design), and he was actually quite effective in the process. Rafer's a great fit for this team. What we need is a shooting guard and arguably a better starting PF. We certainly don't need to trade an asset like Rafer away.
