    Someone else's kids = needle
    My kids = ass

Maybe you could just stick the needle in their ass. I'm willing to compromise ;)

So wonderful to see that the courts have now legalized child murder.

The b**** deserves the death penalty.

Failing that, she should never, ever be released from prison.

A man couldn't get the insanity call, he killed his five kids, he would have to start planning his last meal. Ok, in the mental hospital, put the pictures of her kids all over the room and give her a box with ropes, razor blades, and poison.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I knew there was an example out there; I'm just not the best googler in the world. Now, maybe a certain person will QUIT always playing the race card in topics like this. As Rileydog said, all it does is hurt his position than to help it.

Well rookie, in discussions like this, all it takes is ONE example to disprove a wild conjecture, not three, four, fourteen, or even a hundred.

It's not wild, it's fact. The only way thing that cancels out the race card is money and Johnny Cochran. The race card isn't even an attempt to try and bail someone out. It's about fair treatment. IMO that dude shouldn't have gotten off either, much less Yates.

If you believe this is all about race or sex (i.e. mildly r****ded), then how do you explain the original guilty verdict?

This case was all about the death qualification that the first jury had to have. In the first trial when they were looking for jurors they essentially said - "We need a group of people to make our community better." Once the group was assembled, they said - "OK, how many of you are left handed?" Everyone that raised their hands was excused. In the retrial, they didn't have to ask that question. Black, White, male, female, crazy or not - that's how the system works.

Sadly, the more I think about it, the more I think the race card buckshot approach is really about making the speaker feel good, even if it's at the expense of the cause.

What if Yates was black or hispanic and she was a single mom. Would the verdict be different? Would her lawyer try as hard as he did to defend her? The guy was crying when the verdict was read.

Lady Justice may be blind, but the jurors and judge are not. Our legal system is biased because people are biased. In America if you’re black you're guilty until proven innocent.

i agree with everything you just said. and i can't answer your question with certainty because i don't know the jurors, personally.

but this very same white woman was previously convicted by another jury. this jury found her not guilty.

Aside from the bias in our legal system I agree with the second verdict. Yates was clearly insane and punishing her without regard to her mental illness would be barbaric. I have worked around the mentally ill (criminally insane) and they are not criminals by choice in the same sense that normal criminals are.

With everything else in the case being the same except for her being black, there is no way you can say for sure that the jury would have convicted.

Since that is the case please drop the race card, it really isn't applicable here.

To you and Meowgi: Why in the world do you have compassion for a woman who killed her 5 children? Why in the world do you want to see this woman rehabilitated and back in society?

My thing isn't about sexism. It's about a woman who should be in jail for the rest of her life... period.

Honestly, sometimes I think y'all argue the "sensitive" side just to watch yourself type.

Because I don't really believe that it was this woman who killed her children. IMO (and the juries), this woman was mentally ill. She was not doing this of her own accord. Do you not believe that there are mentally insane people in this world?

Regardless, I haven't ever said I want her back in society. I think she should be under supervision at all times.

Instead of whining like a little girl about me being condescending earlier, why don't you stop being a jackass. I know it's tough for you, Feldman.

Not sure how I'm acting like a girl, or who Feldman is.

And this verdict allows her back into society. More than likely in 10+ years. You beginning to see why I have a problem with it?

Remember this from yesterday? "whaaa, quit being condescending, whaaa"

And Feldman is because of your uncanny resemblence to Corey.

    Link?
