Once yao gets the ball, it shouldnt matter that a 6'3 guard comes to double. If his base is strong and he's holding the bal strong, a guard shouldnt be able to take the ball away or force you off balance even with a guy like nene behind him. Balance is always the key. Some teams double to get the ball out and some double because the guy makes poor decisions.

You know, I don't think Yao had a good game, so don't look at this as excuses or anything...

I swear I am amazed at how many times I see people go to block his shot with just full on no remorse wild swings at his arms and hands. Most of the time when you see someone swing their arms like that to block a ball a foul is called, but it seems like everyone just shrugs and ignores it when Yao has the ball. It's incredible to me that he doesn't have more injuries to his hands and arms the way people go after blocks on him.

But, the Denver game just goes to show that there is no one else on the team that anyone is worried about defending. Pack it in on Yao and let the rest of the Rockets brick it up.

The problem you don't take to count the slap at his arms and the non call.

As mentioned before.. Yao no longer works as hard.. Meaning he doesn't do core strength training and thus all progress that led to his phenomenal play in 06-07 has regressed. Along with foul Chinese Fast Food, IMO worst than McDonald's, Yao's pretty much digging himself a grave. What do yo think? I'm probably 100% right.

Even when the perimeter players are (including Luther Head's 1-3) hitting 50% of their 20 attempts from the arc? I'd say the aswer is to get some players who can run and finish a fastbreak. And drive the paint hard enough that they remove the double team aspect from Yao.

How about Yao work on his core strength to be able to jump and maneuver better and not eat Chinese Fast Foods? Bingo: The Solution.

I doubt any Chinese would enjoy to eat those gross Chinese Fast foods made in American.

If Yao's minutes are being monitored, he should be taking 1/3-1/2 of the Rockets shots while he is in. Play him less mintues, but he needs to be more effective with those.

On another note, if Rafter is trying to push a fast break and there are more defenders than Rockets, please for the love of god dont take the shot. How many dumb shots like that did he take last night? If you have someone who is 7'6, wait for him to get in a position to rebound. Dont do your gay tear drop when its 1 on 4...

Yao seems to enjoy it. He literally eats anything available around the hotel corner. Most Chinese food available are of the fast food nature at any major city in the world. Along with working out less Yao's degression is iminent from now on.

    Yao's menu: Greasy General Tsao's
Mongolian Beef <<< heavy on the sweet sauce
Greasy Lo Mien <<< heavy on the grease curd
Everything else that is red and sweet <<< heavy on the migraine.

Honestly Yao's dietary IQ is probably single digits in contrast to his 117 IQ rating.

How long have we been talking about this? The greyhound theory. Who was the 1st signing of the offseason? A slow, weak, unatheletic, standstill, 37 yr old set shooter. People wonder why the offense looks stagnant. They want to run tis slashing, cutting, backdoor type offense, but they have too many guys that can't finish or slash.

Yao is a gimmick. Automatic from a certain spot with a certain kind of defender, other than that...

I'm at work and it's at home, so I put one together.

    http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pQNu4s_U6hqqCU6mLYMgHdw

In order to retain consistency between your chart and my previous charts, I've included the image/key below to show exactly what I was referring to when I used different terms ("Wing-post", "Mid Paint", etc.).

    1 - Low-post
    2 - Deep Paint
    3 - Mid Paint
    4 - High Paint/Post
    5 - Baseline-post
    6 - Wing-post
    7 - Mid-post
    8 - 18 Feet
    9 - 3pt Line

I pretty much used "High Paint and High Post" interchangeably, so if you'd like you can just pick one and go with it. They're essentially the same thing. Or, you could use "High Paint" for when he gets the ball facing the basket near the free throw line, and "High Post" for when they actually run a play through him as he posts on the elbow. For the spots on the court that aren't labeled, just use your best judgment.

Good luck. I hope you enjoy it and I hope you have a DVR/Tivo! :D
