That is the exact point. I do not know well about the combo of DH, Rashar and Turkulou, but I do know if there was no Nash, Stoudemire would be just like Martin in Denver IMO.
Yao, Amare and DH are three different types of players. Yao has a bet low post game, but Amare and DH are more athletic, and gives them a lot of highlight reels. Yao is getting some recognition because he is the starting center for the Western Conference. Some critics love the athleticism and quick plays that Amare and DH make so they will looked upon as more exciting to watch. Don't worry about Yao, so long as he continues to produce in his way that what the Rockets need. Tmac and Yao need more support from their teammates.
it is hard to get over the fact that some player is getting 22m a year and only plays 70% of the game and even in those games he only gives 50% of the effort. so essentially you are paying 44m a year for his production.
I think it is intriguing all this talk about trading Tmac. Right now with him being injury prone its very unlikely to happen. Tmac is a great player, that needs to take to ball to the paint more down the stretch of games and shoot a higher percentage in free throws. Instead of looking for a trade of Tmac we need a third scorer that will make us a stronger team. Ever since the Jim Jackson for David Wesley trade we have lacked another player outside of Yao and Tmac to score in double digits consistently. Lately we have been getting more offense from Rafer, but his shooting percentage is low, but if he has a good game we usually win.
yao has been a beast. nothing but praise. what he did v. the warriors is what he should do v. every team. he should take advantage of the scrubs he face daily and dominate.
The role players don't play well with Tmac on the floor? You have to be kidding me... They play much better when Tmac is healthy....Tracy basically created every bucket Chuck Hayes has ever made in his career. Battier's 3 pt shooting % usually goes way up when Mcgrady plays, and so does Luther's. The only player that you could argue plays worse when Mcgrady is on the floor is Rafer Alston, and that's simply because he is not a great fit for this team. Scola and Mcgrady haven't developed chemistry together yet, but when they do, the Rockets will be very good on offense. Everything will come together by the end of the season and that is with Tmac, not without him.
oh really? his reputation as "making others better" disappear in 30 games? i guess JVG's proclamation "tmac as the 2nd best playmaker" really makes him look stupid and that's why he's fired
All this trade or not trade TMac stuff no one can answer. It all depends on what we could get and no one I doubt even Morey knows. If we could get a SG/SF that can create off the dribble but is not the all-star tMac is and an upgrade at PG then I say do it but I doubt it. The other problem is we love our roster top to bottom so much and its as full as it can be it would likely be a one-for-one and I don't see one out there that works for that. One trade I really like and succeeded (although our payroll increases by about 4 mil) on trade machine is Kidd + Jefferson for McGrady + James + Snyder. Don't see Nets taking it unless its the best offered of the teams they talk to. McGrady and VC reunited though... As I've said before though this is all a moot point because Morey has said they aren't trading McGrady until they've had Yao and him under Adelman for a year. Although with the availablity of Kidd right now I would be surprised if Morey doesn't at least listen. Kidd would be perfect for Adelman's system and if you have a PG who works the sytem perfectly everything else falls in, and Jefferson is the can create on his own type player I mentioned before.
Ugh. Kidd would be a bad mistake in my opinion. He's old, he's slowing down, and he can't shoot. He also makes more than Mcgrady which is way too much for a 35 year old wash up who can't shoot. His stats(assists rebounds and steals) come mainly because he plays on a bad team who plays uptempo. Kidd is a very good player, but Tmac is much better and he is younger and a better fit for this team
This statement is true partly. 1. When Rocket leads in score, he thinks there is enough margin for him to show off or to improve his statics, he will ignore you, even you get open. 2. When the Rocket is struggling, but he still trust hat he is the man that can save you guys in last 13 seconds, he will keep jumping shoot and totally ignore you. 3. When you cann't tolerate anymore and stop runing around like idiots and he also realizes that he alone cann't save the game, he will start finding you. Then he will blame you for no open.
I dont see any trade made by Rockets including Tracy McGrady, those are just stats, but evidently team plays much, much better with McGrady. Dont be fooled by favorable scheduele , its just a fact. As for who would be traded first which is likely not going to happen but if you rebuild your team , you build it around a big man, Yao in this case. I cant remember one team in past 20 years, except Bulls who won a NBA championship without dominant center.
What I mean is what is the point differential for offense vs defense in those games. For instance, the Rockets overall are +2.0 for the season per game.... What are the per game Pdifferentials for when Tmac is out vs when he is in? DD
