Yao had more effective moves than his turnaround jumper before his NBA debut. Are you saying Yao regressed to the point that he forgot all the other moves after he came back to China, where he initially learned those moves?

So are you blind or just not watching the games. Oh I get it...You are a Suns fan that just wishes to troll around a while.

When Amare can score as many different was as Yao Ming, come and talk smack then. Until that happens you are only showing your ignorance.

Amare is going to be better for sure by training hard with coaches and playing with capable NBA players. Yao certainly had some moves when he was 295 pounds, but none of his moves is his go-to move. As a matter of fact, the guy has NO go-to move if you do not count his turn-around jumer.

Since he started to gain weight in the second half of the season, he pretty much lost most of his moves except the turn-around jumper. His FG percentage declined tremendously as well.

Nice try but you forgot one thing, turnaround jumpers are affected by weight too. Too much weight would only hurt elevation and body control, two elements of making a turnaround jumper. How come Yao's turnaround jumpers are not affected by his alleged overweight? Did you watch the game or you are just following the drift of the American coach Bob Hill?

Also, now you are saying Yao lost his other moves except the turnaround in USA because of gaining too much weight in USA. This is the first time that you admit that training in USA can hurt Yao. Thank you sir and the rest of your post b****ing about Yao not training in USA is officially trash from now on.

i don't think he 'lost' his moves because of weight gain, it was fatigue. the season was taking its toll on him.

however, when i think back to times when yao was given the ball to score, images keep popping up of him backing the defender down, then turning around and shooting over him. sure, he has the shanghai-shake and maybe a few more nifty moves, but how often did he use them? not much.

so it does seem as though turn-around jumper is his go-to move, and although he's a decent shooter and has height advantage, it hinges upon him not having an off-shooting night....and when you play the probability game and roll the dice, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. i think he should work on (or use, if he already has one) a higher percentage go-to-the-basket move as his go-to move. i think we'd all sleep a little better.

Yao really needs adding weight during the summer to reserve the energy.
He would be trained 12 Hours a day by JVG.

Let sun12 have some fun. He has been waiting for any opportunities to bash Yao.
It does not matter if he is contradicting himself as long as he can say bad thing about Yao.

I kind of enjoy this. What does it say when you have a Sun's fan combing Chinese web sites for information about a Houston Rocket, Yao Ming, in a basketball tournament half-way around the world?

In just his first season, Yao Ming is already a top five center, and arguably the best center not named Shaq. Combine that with a new and highly respected coach, a big-man tutor with Hall-of-Fame credentials and a John Thompson pedigree, and you all the ingredients necessary to wrest a playoff spot from the Phoenix Suns.

I don't know. I would expect training in the cheescake factory will add more weight in 3 months. ;) But training in ISO-H studio will surely add more moves to Yao's game.

So do you know what's "All Star" mean, only players like Shaq, Duncan, and Garnett, etc. can be called "All Star". Do u know "All Star" are elected by fans every year? What the "All star" in your post mean? Is there any "All Star" caliber players in that team in China?

I dont believe he called them that...thats what the tour promoters have been calling them. or maybe thats just what the journalists have been calling them..

I'm not sure who gave them the name. Promotors or the Chinese papers..

I do know that in the articles posted about the games against that weak squad...they refer to them as NBA All Stars..

possibly just a name used to peak interest over there, and get people to come out and see the games?

I think he has just translated from the newspaper article. I agree with Rockets2k that most likely it was the tour promotor who named the team 'NBA All-star" to sell tickets.

Don't take it out on the messenger.

Anyway, thanks to have brought us the news, ndcrossfire. With you guys we can know more about how Yao is doing in China.

Regarding the term "USA All Star", I think it means the best US players playing oversea in China leagues.

Livingston broke both of his knees at LSU. He was the Naismith High School player of the year when he graduated high school, the top player in the nation.

I also know someone who played against him in high school. He was sort of like Lebron, a point guard with amazing hops. Too bad he was injured so young.

i played with Randy in New Orleans growing up...he was unbelievably dominant...a prodigy...very much Lebon-esque (w/o so much hype). He led our high school to three state championships (soph - senior yrs).

he had knee and back problems at LSU, and should have played one last year of college ball before entering the draft...drafted by the rockets...has since been bouncing around the NBA and CBA...

he's been playing as Sioux Falls (CBA) for the past several years...last season, he got called up to the Hornets, but was released after a 10 day contract.
