Yao's response to the renew contract question in 2010

What exactly is Yao-centric offense? Surrounding him with slasher and good shooters? Who are they in the past 7 years? We had a shooter with perfect shooting form, but he hardly saw any minutes and was traded. Sura can slash and shoot some 3s, but he was retired. AB can shoot and drive, but as a PG, he couldn't pass Yao the ball without a TO.

Where have been the Jet or Big shot Bob for Yao? Where has been the Sam who can make a mid-range jumpshot for Yao? How can you call that Yao-centric offense, if he never played with a good shooter more than 15 mins a game? Just because Yao plays center? I mean, how many games guys were happy with 2-10 from behind the arc and totally forgot Yao? How many times do you see they re-post Yao in a game?

Yao has a lot of shortcomings, and he hasn't carried this team to 2nd round of the playoff yet. But, when was he option No. 1 through a whole season, or just half of a season? How is that Yao-centric?

In Yao's second year with Rox, Yao was the option No.1 player through the whole season. You know what, rox made it to the playoff for the first time after quite a few years. Then MeMac came and he has been the option No. 1 (even in his latest game this year). We have seen the 20-M option 1 enough.

 

From reading some of the posts...i really wonder what you people think when you say that Adelman's system isn't set up for Yao.

Not that it is...

But I don't think Adelman will be here much longer...

another coach...heck any other coach would use Yao differently and more effectively
