Butler knew that. We all knew that. I hope Yao could have a couple of more monster dunk. BTW, our big three did stand up in the 4th quarter. Thanks to them. Go Rockets.
It was a nice dunk but there should have been 5 of them with the way the Wizards were defending him. And Yao only had 5 rebounds in 33 minutes. That is pathetic. He was also letting Blatche and McGhee go over him around him and through him. Again, the dunk was nice but the rebounding and defense was embarrasing.
seriously...it's an appreciation thread, get over it man. it's like at any celebratory/award ceremony for someone. you give appreciation, you won't be like "here is your mvp trophy, BUT you could have done more" then again what am i thinking? i am on the clutchfans bbs. Where hating happens.
It's sad that there is an appreciation thread for something he should have done 5-10 times tonight - something he should be doing every game. It's embarrassing that a center who is supposed to be elite gets appreciation for what most other centers do multiple times each game. I guess it's so rare that it makes sense. Sad. JaVale McGee, a rookie that is only getting significant playing time because Haywood is injured, threw down more dunks than Yao. He did that while playing 13 less minutes, too. I wonder if Wizards fans created a thread for each one of his dunks. The fact is these kinds of dunks should be the norm for Yao. It shouldn't be so shocking that we create a thread about it. We should be making threads about why Yao only had 5 rebounds in 33 minutes. That is seriously abnormal. We should be making threads about how he is so immobile that rookies and unknown players are finishing over him, around him and through him. We should be making threads about how Yao still can't protect the ball when a little guy sneaks up behind him. He should have an instinct for this by now. He can't read plays and even when he does, he can't react in time. We should make threads about how Yao sees a pass to make then takes 3 seconds to process and deliver the pass. By that time, a defender has stepped into the passing lane and stolen the ball.
Ahh so the board really IS a place for you to come and complain. There's not a single positive thread in that entire list. Complimentary threads aren't worthy? Why can't we start a thread on how Yao is a great FT shooter? Why can't we start a thread on how Yao has a diverse offensive game? Why can't we start a thread that Yao is working himself back into shape after coming off a rough offseason/injury? Why can't we start a thread thankful we have a center who can make a 18 ft. fall away jumper while being fouled to give us a 1 pt. lead? Why can't we start a thread about how Yao is a tireless worker and the organization is considering cutting his work time down? Yao ISN'T the athletic kind of center who will throw down everything. His game is finesse. Always has been, always will be. Of course he'll have his awesome dunks here an there, but for the most part that's not his game. Yao went out of his way to dunk that ball. If you think that's sad that he had to, well that's how Yao plays. Gotta get used to it or don't watch it. I, for one, love his game. I loved the fact that he stepped up to the challenge and threw that freaking ball down! Changed the course of the game... Every player has good and bad, but I don't see a single positive thread in your list. Complain and criticize, by all means, but you gotta switch it up...it would be nice to add a third C...compliment.
Lower your expectation will make you so much happier. Instead of worrying about "should have", "could have", why not just enjoy "have"? Start appreciate what you have, in stead of what you don't have. Yao has never been an athletic freak and he will never be one. I thought people would have accepted that now. Yao does NOT have the vertical or strength to dunk with ease. Why is it so hard to believe and accept? There are positive and negative perspective of the SAME fact. Glass half empty or glass half full. If you can't even enjoy a win and appreciate the players' effort, what's the point of following the games? Just so you can feel pissed off and disappointed, and sad?
oh yeah i'm the big yao hater cause i think he needs to play better against scrubs like glen davis where was that in the boston game? before you rookies pop the champagne, notice how the wizards were r****ds not to front yao would yao dunk on someone if he had 2 or 3 quick fouls? i'd be more impressed if he was aggressive and had fouls. sorry i just have more faith in Yao than you guys do, I think he can be better, you guys think he's the best ever
honestly ya its really amazing to see yao slam it down like that, but really if you think about it and you say.........would i really want him doing that? when he jumps and slams it down he is forcing a tremendous amount of pressure on his feet................. DOESN'T YAO HAVE FEET PROBLEMS?
turned the game, yao had a beautiful game, he doesn't need to score 30, 35, 40...20 is fine, decent rebounds, pound them and make em pay you tall asian mo fo! nice jam my man
You sir should go become a Magics fan and stop crowding the bandwagon. You are crowding it up for the non-bandwagon fans who appreciate what Yao brings, especially after having to witness the Calvin Cato years (I will be having nightmares tonight!).
