it wasn't even yao's dunk, it was his PATIENCE. usually yao folds under double teams. today he held the ball high (but the wiz was so dumb to bring midgets to double yao) and stayed calm and found the open man, who then swung the ball.

next time if a big guy comes over to double yao, he just has to keep that. i loved yao's patience tonight on offense.

that dunk was leading by example. And everyone else followed.

The rockets are kinda pathetic in that regard--everyone wants to be a follower

did anyone see tracy's reaction to yao's dunk? he looked at yao and said something like, "you go boy, do yo thang" lol

but it's not a good sign that we need to make an appreciation thread for a yao's dunk. that means he must not dunk too much.

    c'mon big guy, let's get 2-3 dunks a game

Its dunks of this magnitude that deserve a round of applause, not the ones like he always does.

Yao was one of the MVPs of this game. Without him Tmac doesn't get those wide open shots. He didn't really have the dominating in your face type of game, but I'll take that game from him every day.

Sorry to piss on the parade, but he used to do that a few times a week, prior to his 2006 injury, against guys better than that....I'm just sayin...

    Really?

An appreciation thread for A dunk??? LOL... my, how low have our expectations fallen when we start an appreciation thread for a dunk.

what next, an appreciation thread for when Barry hits a three?

    WIZARDS FORWARD CARON BUTLER

    On the game:

β€œIt was tough. We had a good handle on their core guys for the majority of the game. You knew at some point in the game Tracy McGrady was going to get it going, and he had some critical shots. I think Yao (Ming) got the team united when he had the big dunk – the momentum just kind of shifted in their favor at that point.”
