Talk about a thread being derailed... jeez. I can't even tell who's being sarcastic or just plain addle-minded.

Teams aren't going to let Yao beat them, and last night's game is a perfect example - the refs actually got tired of calling defensive 3-second violations after the 3rd one. And against guys like T-Mac, AI or Kobe it's strategically wise to hope they put up 30+ shots and hit < 40% rather than have a guy easily get the ball and score almost at will.

If you don't see the impact Yao has on T-Mac's game then you're just frustrated with your own expectations. And for all the guys that are griping about the 0-8 thing, do you have any clue how clutch Yao was in the 4th quarter for the last two years?

And for Yao, who's not even on his max contract yet he's still a hell of a lot better than many max guys who are. The idea of a max guy being a franchise player is history if you look around the NBA, but still people demand dominance even when pathetically 3 guys are in Yao's lap and this team can't capitalize.

If T-Mac thought otherwise, believe me he wouldn't look so happy.

I wasn't sure where to post this, so if someone wants to repost this link in a better location; please do.

I was looking around video.google, and found this video of 13pts in 35. It may have already been linked to on this board, but in case it hasn't, it's really good.

Actually, over a large part of this season, as quantified by 82games.com, Yao is doing pretty well for the Rockets. He has the highest +/- on the team (+20.1) followed by Tmac (+12.9).

Of course, the team needs both to do well. Same site also reports that Stromile (+1.4) is a better start than Juwan (-17.9).

his point is very clear. YAO numbers in 0-8 could not reflect what he did on the court, and you belong to YAO Hater, of course :D

I dont know why we have these type of topics. The Rox need Yao but they need T-Mac even more. Check Yao's scoring in the 4th when games are won. Yao is the reason why the Rox are a dangerous team and also a reason why they are inconsistent. If every night Yao put his stamp on the game, the Rox would be hard to beat, but some nights he let Diop outplay him in the 4th, some nights he lets Raef outplay him. Very rarely does McGardy let anyone out play him. Once Yao can impact the game 4 35mins a night, thats the night when the Rox can be mentioned with SA and Det.
