You are right.. very heartbreaking to hear/see of such destruction. God bless all those that have lost their lives and their families and friends!! Both the earthquake in China and the storm in Myanamar. My thoughts and prayers are with those people.
I have donated too but unlike you I don't have to tell the whole world about it. Bragging about making charitable donation on the internet is dumb.
Easy there buddy. People reading about how many other people (especially those w/out a direct connection to the tragedy) have donated may inspire him/her to do the same.
what's wrong with telling others that you helped out? that'll make others who haven't yet want to donate as well. and it makes people happy to see others care. i say to the poster, good for you. and i am going to donate my economic stimulus rebate check. people should encourage others for donation, not b**** at them.
Yao Ming: Olympics Have Changed by Robert Siegel Listen Now [5 min 52 sec] add to playlist All Things Considered, May 15, 2008 ยท Houston Rockets center Yao Ming is playing basketball for his native China this summer at the Olympic Games in Beijing. Yao discuses the earthquake that has devastated southwest China, the popularity of basketball among the Chinese, his view of politics surrounding the Olympic Games and his injured foot.
Unlike him, he doesn't tell the world how much he hates it when other people donate and tell the world about it. You obviously aren't telling the world about your charitable donation and want the world to know that you aren't bragging about your donation. Nobody knows about it.

This is probably the best report I ever heard on NPR All Things Considered or any radio station... http://www.npr.org/blogs/chengdu/2008/05/we_found_fu_guanyu_and.html#more
hey, look at how much US has donated? $50,000. How about last time what China has done to your Katrina in New Oleans? $3 million. There is a huge difference there between what USA has done to China and how China as only a poor developing country done to USA, the richest country in the world!!!!
calm down friend,we did not donate that $3 million for someday they would donate more when we need help. It's not a good time to compare which contury offers more money or even to blame those who offers less,we should thank every country who offers help or express their condolences to the our sufferred people.
