Yao needs to drop his pride and tell the CBA to go **** themselves. He can't continue to play for them if he wants to play int he NBA. I mean damn, it's like asking football players to play 12 months of the year with no break. You're body just can't handle it. No one in the NBA plays more basketball than him year round and he's the most injury prone player in the NBA. It's not conditioning, or him playing too many minutes (his minutes were down this year if I remember correctly), his body just can't handle the physical beating he takes year round.

I blame Reebok. Ever since he switched from Nike to Reebok he's had all kinds of foot problems. Having the correct shoes is so important tot support someone that big.

The past 2 yrs this guy named leebigez was always talking about a decent back up. While some was giddy over the signing of a over the hill barry guy, this poster kept talking about magloire, mbenga, anderson, elson and ratliff. This poster was alsoo confused as to why with DeAndre Jordan on the board in the 2nd rd, the stat guru chose to draft Ray Lewis with a basketball. Leebigez was also told about the virtues of chuck hayes or scolandry playing center. Now, because of the overwork from summers and the grind of the nba, the rockets will have to play with a undersized 4 at the 5. It would be nice if management would listen to leebigez sometime :D

Well they did have that Deke guy....I have never seen a team go throw so many season ending injuries to key players.

    Strange season.

I've said this in the other thread, but i really believe the reason why he's having foot problems has more to do with his shoes. Ever since he switched to Reebok from Nike he's had more problems. Having the right shoes to support his feet and align his whole body is important. I don't think Reebok/Adidas commits enough money or has the R&D to serve Yao correctly.

    I disagree.

It is combination of gear and lack of study of how Yao moves.

I am hoping it is a scientific problem. Yao's gear needs to be looked at. Also we need a sports scientist to study the forces on Yao's body to see what we can do about it...

Not saying it has any relevance...but he does fractured it twice, or every season under RA.

I think Yao is not supposed to weight that much. But the coaches want him to weight that much so that he use his weight to back down his man. But a skinnier Yao is more athletic and run faster and not as injured imo. Remember when he started out in his rookie year?? Well, Yao is supposed to look like that but with a little more weight, not 350lbs...that's way too much to support his frame i think. Shaq is able to deal with 350lbs because he's not that tall. I think Yao just needed to add strength, rather than weight. That will makes him more mobile and less injured.

The only way to make sure yao plays throughout an entire playoff run is to fake an injury for the first 45 games of the season.

I really can't stand it anymore. Every year it's the same damn thing. Injuries.

    "If only" "Next year"

    :(

I'm with you, I really have no idea what they should do. I love Yao, but his annual injuries are killing this team. Just like TMAC's.

Actually, more than likely than not, Yao won't resign with the rockets. There have been disagreements between Yao and rox management/Les (not explicitly though).
This is according to Yang Yi, Yao's buddy in China.
