Kendrick Perkins was doing good jobs on him tonight. Yao need to redeem himself. Tonight loss is not Doomsday. Scola was great tonight. Kudos for his work. If it's not him, Rox couldn't fight back from 16pt deficit.
    Go Rox.

Everyone has bad nights. You know Yao is very consistant player, so he will bounce back from this.

I know right. I mean, sure he dominated the first 3 games and is about as dependable as you can get night in and night out, but tonight he wasn't very good. Trade him!

    GTFO please.

This WAS a bad game for Yao. It's a fact. He knows he lost confidence and just got owned.

Perkins made very shot from the outside and stuffed him twice. And that stuff in the 3rd started the bad game for him.

These games happen. I feel bad for him.

However, look at the bright side, TMAC came alive, Scola was nails and we lost by 4 when our 1# option stunk. Also, no Battier. You think Ray Allen would have been that open most of the game?

Look, with a closing unit of Tmac, Battier, Artest Yao and Scola/Laundry. It's going to be fun.

It's the 4th game people. It's not like the 7th game of a playoff series.

Yao will bounce back. He better!

Yao will be fine. I agree with Cabbage that Yao is hard to count on with these types of games down the stretch, but you know what we will get from him as far as numbers throughout the game. He will be solid. I' am more worried about our defense, especially with Rafer and McGrady. T-Mac looked better tonight physically, he was moving a little quicker and was jumping a bit higher so I think he's coming around. Rafer however, I don't know what to say. The guy has been a liability on BOTH sides of the court. Just look at the difference when Brooks comes in the game. It's like night and day. Either way, I' am not down on Yao at all, I think despite having a bad game with him Artest and Rafer, we only lost by 4 without Shane. People don't realize how important Battier is on our defense. He directs our defense when he's out there. He's like our point guard directing traffic on defense. We will see that when he comes back.

I think maybe Yao is too tired in his body and soul, now I miss uncle Mutombo very much. if he is in the team now, he will give us more surprising ! so i strongly recommend we should advise uncle Mu to attend the team again !

Ok Yao is coming off missing half a season. Give me a break, the guy isn't going to be in mid-season form.

    Tom knows Yao inside out.

Tom probably knew what color panty Yao was wearing tonight.

I am shocked every time I see a team play behind Yao. I have yet to see him consistently beat fronting defense. You can neutralize Yao, in fact even make him a liability, by fronting him all game. Tom knows it because he has seen it in his years at Houston.

Always expect this kind of fast, furious, and fronting defense against Yao in playoffs. It's one of the main reasons he has been less than stellar in playoffs so far.

but that's how it goes. a center has to receive the ball; he can't create himself. if he's getting fronted, it makes it difficult to deliver him the ball.

The problem is not being fronted, but that Yao does not have strong hands and leaping ability, and is to slow to receive lob passes over the defense.

It always surprises me when people simply can't admit that an opposing player had a good game. Perkins' performance tonight had very little to do with Yao's defense. As many have said, he had one of those once in a blue moon nights. Yao was doing what he should in leaving him open and daring him to hit the open jumper. It just so happens it was falling for him tonight. If Yao came out to defend those shots, it would have left the paint too wide open. Yao's job is to man the paint.

When Yao got into foul trouble was what caused his defense inside to drop. He couldn't play as aggressive because of the fouls so he got abused inside. And I think that made Perkins get into his head since he was having a good game inside and at mid range. That and the block, after that his offense went down the crapper.

Honestly, I didn't think it was that big of a deal. He had a bad game, it happens. Knowing Yao he would bounce back.

No, Yao didn't have a bad game. He did the best he could. Just don't expect him to be that good y'all. He's not a dominant player. I'm not disappointed in his performance at all. He was just overmatched tonight.

He tried to play like Yao. It's the opposing players that didn't let him play like Yao. Yao tried as hard as he could. You can't ask for more. He's not the best player in the NBA.
