what ever did Yao do to work up such a sweat? i thought he wasn't supposed to put too much strain on the foot, i.e. maybe jogging and no jumping.
Well, according to what was reported on sina.com, he had worked in the gym prior to the team practice, joined the team in the warmup exercise, i.e. stretching their legs, flexing their muscles on the floor....and then when the team went on their shooting practice, he was grouped with Mutombo and Novak, and he did some free throw practice. After working a while on his free throws, he volunteered to be the ball boy, picking up the loose balls for Mutombo and Novak for their shooting practice. He then stayed behind for another 10 minutes on practicing his free throws, when his team mates retreated from the court. So did that explain to you why he all sweated up ??
I'm in the majority and my wife thought MY feet were weird (and my son too). So it turns out HER feet are weird because her big toe is the longest. Hmmm.
Since when does having a toe-nail removed constitute toe surgery If they are referring to his osteomyelitis clean-out surgery from last year...this "sit-out" is not related to that...nor is it related to his foot fracture....wtf http://www.nba.com/games/20061013/ATLHOU/recap.html Houston 107, Atlanta 93 Rockets Top Hawks Without Injured Yao Box Score | Rockets Home | Hawks Home LITTLE ROCK, Ark., Oct. 13 (Ticker) -- Even without Yao Ming, the Houston Rockets were in midseason form. Luther Head scored 20 points and Kirk Snyder and Rafer Alston netted 15 apiece as the Rockets posted a 107-93 victory over the Atlanta Hawks in a preseason contest. NBA TV highlights from Rockets-Hawks: Play Last season, Ming and two-time scoring champ Tracy McGrady each missed considerable time with injuries, preventing them from being on the court simultaneously for much of the campaign. The Rockets' offense suffered, and a team many thought could challenge for a championship missed the playoffs with a 34-48 mark. While Yao continues to recover from toe surgery, McGrady thrived, scoring 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting in just 17 minutes. His performance helped the Rockets take a 65-40 halftime lead. Head hit 8-of-16 shots off the bench - including four 3-pointers - in 30 minutes. Snyder, who played with the New Orleans Hornets last season, made 5-of-10 shots for Houston, which rebounded after Tuesday's 79-65 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. Josh Smith scored 18 points, Joe Johnson added 17 and Marvin Williams 16 for the Hawks, who suffered their first preseason loss after defeating Memphis on Wednesday

Am I the only one who is reminded of the scene in Lord of The Rings The Return of The King when Gollom (AKA Smeagol) finally gets the ring back from Frodo right before he falls into the lava?
