Yao is always at risk at aggravating his sore right foot. In the playoffs, he'll be expected to play more minutes, and this risk will not go away. Now is just not the time to take precautionary games off. Starting right now, the Rockets need to be in a playoff mindset.
Agreed. His minutes should be limited, but he should play. He's a rythym guy and I think he needs the repetition.
The way the west is we are going to have to play the Lakers in order to get to the finals. I'm not looking that far into because this team is not shaped up to be in the finals. We are incomplete but I'm saying with the way we are seeded we are going to have 2 face the lakers.
I want to reach the 2nd round also but I'm saying you can't be afraid of whom you are matched up against. Yeah some match ups may give us the edge but just remember your not going to win every matchup situation. We were favored to beat the Jazz. That didn't happen 2 years straight when we played them.
Apparently you don't remember what happened. Name me a key guy who didn't play in last year's series, for example. Secondly, check out the disparity between EVERY playoff bound team's home and away records.
HAHAHAHHA are you seriously asking me this question??. Second question. What difference does it matter with the home and away records. If you are apparently going to be the NBA Champions then you should be able to win away games because thats what you have 2 do.
Not that its a secret anymore but he is making the opponents job easier to defeat us. PnR all day with heavy mins for Yao is going to be a nightmare to watch.
id rather sit him.. losing 2 spots in the standings is worth keeping him healthy for the playoffs. im just afraid of him breaking something and miss the entire post season
I think we need a win more than resting yao, at least we should lock the homecourt advantage even if we have to play the Trail Blazers in the first round.
While Rockets would love to rest Yao for the next two games, it would mean loss of conditioning for Yao. Based on Yao's history, it takes him some time to get back in game shape, once he misses a couple of games. Yao relies heavily on rhythm and him sitting out would mean him losing some of it. Rockets cant rely on a Yao trying to catch up on his conditioning and rhythm once the playoffs get underway, especially in a Western conference where not much separates a 2nd seed from a 8th seed. It's the playoffs. Time to suck it up.
