Caron is coming on strong, but I don't if it'll be enough. Amare has been playing pretty crappy. Yao has been playing really crappy, especially in the last 2. There still are 10 games left though.
Dude, calm down. I now Yao has looked horrible lately, but he's only had like 10 bad games all year. You can't build your argument over his performance in stretch of 7 games in 10 in 7 different cities. Read the Chronicle today, even Coach Smith says it's 80% fatigue. He hasn't forgotten how to play basketball. I understand where you're coming from though, because I felt the exact same way watching him miss fadeaway after fadeaway last week. But after rewatching a bunch of the old games, I really think it's just fatigue, with maybe a little self-confidence mixed in.
Get a clue man! Mar 26 22pts 9rbs 1ast 3stl 2blk Mar 19 17pts 12rbs 3ast 3blk Mar 11 24 pts 8rbs 2ast Mar 4 17pts 11rbs 2ast Mar 1 19pts 9rbs 2ast 3blk Quite frankly this list goes on and he has been a factor is every Suns game.
you only picked a few games he played well. Yao also had good games in March. Yao won the rookie of the week a couple of times in March. Yao won the battle against Amare in the last rox-suns game too! I think Yao is more a factor in Rox game than Amare in Suns game. Suns has been playing Outlaw more than Amare lately.
You should give out an individual award based on an entire team's performance. That goes against the nature of the award. Yao's ROY contention should not hinge on anyone's performance but his own.
To add to my original post, I think Caron Butler will win the award. He's the #1 option on that team and he just busted out for a monster game. You can't say 'well the heat have a terrible record' but doesn't the ROY award hinge on a player's VALUE to his team? If Caron is the #1 option in the latter half of the season doesn't that make him worth more to his team than any other rookie? Food for thought.
I can't believe I wasted 5 minutes of my life reading this thread. Yao is a rookie. If you expect him to be a difference-maker in every game, 70-odd games into his first 82 game season, you're misguided. In actual fact, taken over the course of the season, his stats have consistently been improving (albeit with a slight downturn the last few games). I frankly couldn't care if Yao wins ROY or not. It's a fairly meaningless award, and since DRob got MVP over Dream in '95, I haven't paid much attention to these media-voted things.
Yao has had a larger impact in the league then any other Rookie both on the court and off it. Bailey is right on the mark, sportswriters and broadcasters vote for Roy. Yao will win by a landslide. They love Yao so don't think twice Yao won't win. Side note: - There is a projection that players the size of 8 ft tall will be coming out of Asia in 10 years. Can you imagine this? Makes Yao look like a midget. - Yao Mings success really makes me wonder how Ri Myong Hun, a 7 ft 10 center from N. Korea, would have done in the NBA. - I'm hoping Ha Seung-jin, a 7 ft 3 S. Korean center, keeps growing so that we might see the battle of the big men actually reach another level. Seung-jin has been quoted as wanting to bring a Shaq style of play to the NBA.
LOL you don't understand your own words very well don't you? You said that Amare hasn't been a factor in a Suns game for more than a month......... And I proved you wrong. Now you come out here claiming that Bo Outlaw is getting more minutes than Amare lately., which is not true since Bo Outlaw played more minutes than Amare only in 3 games this whole month and most of the time just 1 more minute.... 2nd of all Amare had a slight ankle sprain at the beginning of this week and still has a turf toe.
As I said I think both are going to end up winning ROY! Co-ROY! Like Stevie and Brand! That's juss the way it showed be!
This is absurd. Who gives a sh*t what Amare is going through right now. You are at a Rox fan forum and Yao is one of our boys. Amare has a sprained ankle? I was hoping that he would break his leg. Get lost, you non-Rox fan.
Hey, look at the contaxt. me saying Amare is no factor is more correct than a few Yao haters saying he is totally useless here. Watch Suns games, you will see Outlaw plays better than Amare lately. Also, looking back the second half of this season, when you talk about Suns, clearly Marbury and Marion are the men. Amare is not a factor as in the first half. On the contrary, for the whole season, Yao and SF are the men for Rox. Win or lose highly depends on their performance. For Suns, win or lose depends on marbury and Marion. talking about injury, Yao has plenty as well. most important, I think you and a couple of guys in the thread are Suns fans, and you can go back to lick Amare's ass. You are not welcome here.
TrickDaddy has no game and has never even played on a collegiate level so dont listen he has no clue...
