I haven't even seen him contest a single dunk in the lakers game. If that doesn't show fear and lack of confidence I don't know what does.
If you want to be technical, Yao has lost the rockets more games than he has won. Yes he was clutch in a handful of wins this season, however his TURNOVERS, low FG%, and missed free throws have lost us more games than he has helped win. You could also credit him for the loss against the kings also. That's 3 out of the last 5 on low FG% alone. How many did we lose because of key turnovers?
Please do not damage Yao's image. He does not like money as much as you do. Certainly he likes basketball more than anything else.
If you want to find some guy to blame, start with management which put together lousy coaching staff, the coaches that put together the ISO offence, not to mention the greedy ball hogging guards who waste the time dribbling and dribbling and then jacking up shots. With larry taking over, the matter is being made worse. They simply do not know how to use Yao, as many commentators pointed out. Unlike what you claimed, Yao is still the 7th best FG% in the whole league. He blocks more shots and draws more double teams than other Rockets players.
I don't know what is your problem, but I have never once heard you say something positive about the rookie, even when he's playing great. i wouldn't be suprise if you having an orgaism right now seeing yao struggle. Yao is down right now enjoying blasting him more freely and unreasonably while you can. let me remind you yao is still a rookie from another country who is still learning the american style basketball and have yet to finish this season. So he lost to the most dominant player in the nba, who has been playing in the league for over 10 years and he didn't play well against a TEAM that has the reigning MVP. yeah that was really embrassing, yeah let send him back to china, this guy will never get better and he is such a bad fit for the rockets.

Yao indeed may not win ROY. But to say that he's not going to get it because of 2 bad games is beyond stupid. That's like saying a QB is out of the MVP race because he went 2-8 with an Int in a quarter of a game.

Trickdaddy, you make some good points and you reach on some, but you should just quit arguing, they will never acknowledge anything other than Yao is god. Look at when the people who are arguing signed up, most after June 2002. They are Yao fans who act as Rocket fans, who even if Yao shot the game-winning shot in the wrong basket would argue to the deathbed that it was Rudy, Eddie, Francis, Mobley, or anyone other than Yao's fault. They could really care less about the team, they just want Yao to got 75 shots a game, even though he isn't good enough for the 10-12 he gets lately, and everyone to worship Yao with them. There is actually a thread in here called DEAR YAO, where they profess their love for him. That is just sick. It should tell you what your odds of having an intelligent conversation with them is.

How do you think Yao or Francis or any other Rocket player would feel if another man actually sent a Dear Yao, I love you letter to them or walked up and said it to them personally? They would try to get as far away from that situation as possible. It is called an obsessive stalker. They stalk celebrities all the time and it sometimes ends up tragic. They want no part of individuals like that. They would appreciate you saying somthing like you are a great player and I respect what you do on the court and in the community.
