You guys just overreact without even understanding the message of the thread. The said that he's happy with Yao's performance but he just can't be the younger Shaq where he was dominating the paint in scoring as well as rebounding. Dominate means 30+, not just 20.

I'm sure Yao played a lot of minutes with the CNT and one of the biggest complaints was that the CNT was running him to the ground. In fact last year Yao said himself he would like to take a break and spend summer recovering and conditioning.

I higly doubt you are 7'-6" weigh 310 lbs and are playing against the likes of Shaq and Wallace. If you are enter next year's NBA draft as fast as you can and you will get your millions.

Keep in mind the young Shaq wasn't scoring 30+ every night either. Average doesn't mean that every game you score that amount.

As far as dominating there's more to dominating a game than just scoring the most. There are many players who regular rack up 30 and 40 point games yet still have losing records.

So, mrmrdan, you decided not to stick around and defend your thread-worthy premise? Just as I thought.

The thread starter is trying to teach us how to own a over 100 replies thread. It's really not that difficult...just be a troll and start a thread with an idiotic topic.

Now I feel bad that I have posted in this thread and actually helped the thread starter to achieve his goal.

Jeff Hornacek could. He was perhaps the most prolific jumpshooter ever in the NBA, shooting close to 50% for his career. There is no doubt Yao needs to keep the jumpshots in his game, as a counter to all the power moves he has learned over the past 4 years, developing them in the offseason with Tom Thibodeax. If Yao stays multidimensional, it simply makes him harder to guard. Plus, KG doesn't have, nor never had the same back to the basket game Yao has now as a 4th year player. Just my thoughts.....

Yes, Yao will never be as powerful as Shaq. Yao will never be as dominant as Duncan. Yao will never be as flashy as Wade...

This list can go on and on. But he doesn't have to. He doesn't have to be a next shaq, next duncan, or whoever. He is only going to be the first Yao, who plays games more with head than brawn.

For this matter, I love Yao.

Face it, only Shaq in his prime could back his defender down consistently and then took the point-blank shots. So what do you want Yao to do when he is not under the basket and the shot-clock is running out? If he passes the ball out, you guys will b**** he is not agreesive enough and whine that he's the go-to guy so he should take the shot instead of giving up the ball. If he takes the jumpers, you guys will also b**** that he shouldn't take the lower percentage shots. I have no idea what you really want.

I think other posters have pointed out Hakeem took a lot of fadeaways in his prime, Duncan took more jumpers than Yao. KG took more jumpers than Yao. Face the reality, you can't expect Yao to be able to take point-blank shots in every play.

Remember we are talking about real NBA basketball here, not NBA2K7. And from your post, we can tell you have been playing that game too much lately.

Lebron scored only 19 in one game this season, and Wade only scored 24 against us. I cant believe that the Cavs havent cut Lebron yet, and I am sure that Wade is on the next bus to the D-league since that are not dominant players.

Even during his "sissy" years in the league when he was very passive, he had a few dominating performances per year (usually one on one coverages). Now he has many more of these types of games. Conclusion, he is improving, and will dominate from time to time. Very few players in the NBA play intense playoff style basketball every night. LeBron is close. Also, something I have noted, it is extremely important for Ming to make his first two or three shots, like finding the range. If he starts off missing, he never seems to zero in.

Right, they should change this league from NBA to NBDL instead cuz nobody scored 30+ points everynight.
