According to the interviews right after game, Posted on some Chinese websites Yao's ankle will be OK for season opening game. Yao also says that he think the team is better than last year and entering playoff will be no problem bearing some injuries. And he think D. Howard is stronger than last year, RBK shoes are not the problem, he is working on adapting to the new basketball. Good news isn't it? http://sports.sohu.com/20061027/n246043024.shtml
http://sports.sina.com.cn/k/2006-10-27/10422531496.shtml Yes,yao will be fine, this article said he can back to the training court tomorrow.
the thing with yao is that i'm already concerned with his conditioning. obviously it's important he's there for game one but probably of even higher priority is that he's fine tomorrow and able to conntinue his training to get into peak shape. from watching the game and reading up, it seems to me he's just fine which is excellent news.
This is good news, I was reading up on Yao getting injured in the game and sitting out the second half but have now read interviews after the game and any worries about Yao missing the opener against Utah have now gone. He'll be back in practice tomorrow and his condition should improve ready for the regular season.
