oh come on, Yao basically said what is on everybody's mind. If this trade is to happen, Rockets will definitely become the team to beat in the West. The only concern, besides all the players being too injury-prone, IS Ron Artest. If he flips **** during a game or decides he wants time-off for his music career again, it's going to ruin the team chemistry and another season.

Of course it isn't Yao's place to talk about the incident whether jokingly or not, but did Ron expect that no one is thinking about that?

You can bet that Blinebury is going to cause a lot of stir-ups like this over the course of the season. I say we take care of him now. Clutchfans in China...do what you have to do!

kobe was cleared, and it's his personal life. whenever someone talks about artest, I would say the first thing that comes up to mind is the brawl.

THe Artest thing was different, because he went into the stands while playing a basketball game in front of half the world via satellite... happened on the job. Totally different than some Kobe offseason hotel incident. If you're Yao and see something crazy like that, is he supposed to pretend it never happened? At least he was only joking... haha...

I'm sure Yao regrets making that 'joke' in retrospec ...but Blinberry is still a douchbag. If he wasn't a Houston reporter, it wouldn't be so bad. But for a Houston reporter to misquote Yao is douch supreme.

Joking .. I hope Yao learnt something. You don't joke on such bad incident that involved someone who is somewhat considered "crazy".

Blinebury is scum. The best thing to do is ignore his blogs and JV articles.

    Feigen is the best!

I said in another thread that I thought Yao might be smiling when he said that. It really would be his nature.

One thing worries me regarding Ron and Yao. Yao has become more vocal in the media about the team's play in recent years. One could even say he has, at times, made vague references about his dissappointment in some team mates. If he pulls that with Artest then we have a problem. To be clear, I am glad to see Yao speaking out when the team doesn't give a max effort. I also feel he always blames himself more than his team mates so I am by no means trying to say what is does is unfair or unsportsmanlike but it can alienate certains people such as our newest Rocket.

Two things we've learned with Ron over the years is that if he doesn't respect you then you get nothing from him and he never respects guys who don't confront him face to face. Make a vague reference about his personality or style of play to the media and now he has a big problem with you.

Obviously, there is no story this time but I can see the possibility of a problem down the road.

If I wrote something like that in my job, I would probably get fired. As they say, do not rock the boat, especially if you are sitting on it.

I know media needs to be impartial, but since the Chronicle is based in Houston, it is in its best interest to have some bias to the local teams. Blinebury had to know when writing this that it could even have the potential to kill the deal, which would be terrible for the Rockets. If say ESPN had reported it, I would be OK.

The Chronicle should at least give him a reprimand. But then again, he is probably related to the owners. How else would you explain he is in China?

Artest is so ghetto he got his feelings hurt like a baby.....joke or not....true. Respect that Yao had the balls to call it they way the world see's it and not cater to a man who must prove himself to the world now.

    GO YAO GO!
    GO RON GO!

Everybody holds Yaos injury past against him what is the difference?

Difference is that Yao didn't do squat yet for the Rockets yet. For him to question chemistry etc. at the expense of a player like Artest, when he himself never got us past the first round all these years, is ridiculous. Yao is trying to be a leader, but this is not the right way. The right way is what Scola said about Artest.

22 games is not chemistry?......so rockets would not have been a different team if he hadn't got hurt?

so the times Artest was in the playoffs his team didn't have chemistry? is there good chemistry if the guys haven't played together?

if Artest had gotten hurt, which he has alot in the past, would his team have gotten further? would you hold that against artest?

if yoa joined the kings would Artest not have the right to talk about chemistry?
did Yao say there was not going to be good chemistry?

THERE ARE ALOT OF QUESTIONS.....obviously Yao is thinking....Artest is already playing the victim..... does he have a history of doing that?

Will Jonathan Feigen get a raise for his "promotion" to full time Ron Artest media land mine disfuser?

I can see the blogs now. Dude's whole life will revolve around spinning comments and difusing other local writer's "work" in order to keep the peace.
