Or Yao will be fined $25K and suspended for a couple of games and referees won't give Yao the benefit of the doubt on close calls.

He cursed cos definitely it was one of these BS calls he received; it not only caused his 3rd foul but also a turnover was added onto his stats by that Oscar winning flopping act of Anderson Varejao.
Definitely saw that. Great, I love an emotional Yao. The emphatic dunk Yao had from Luther Head was awesome. Its funny to see this team show emotion, since Van Gundy never shows emotion. I was at the game Saturday, and on one of Rafer Alston's three's he made in the 4th qtr, he stopped and held his hand in the air in celebration mode and I could see Van Gundy waving his hand signaling for Rafer to get downcourt. After a second or so, Rafer snapped back, and ran downcourt. It was funny. Van Gundy keeps a very tight leash on his players.
Later see that dunk on Varejao? That was such a good retaliation by Yao and we could see Yao with the hype
we all seem to fine with it when its shane battier who does the flopping. i have to agree that the call on yao was pretty weak, but flopping has become part of the game, and we have a guy who excels at baiting players into offensive fouls in shane battier. i say we take the good with the bad, because we cant say that we dont like it when we see a lebron james or a dwyane wade get called for an O foul, cause i certainly love it
I wnat yao to combine english and chinese swear words shanghainese are the best at swearing...i am surprised he doesnt swear like a shang
Fans don't pay $500 seats to watch refs officiate a Yao-less Rockets game. I'd like Yao to call their bluff.
durvasa beat me to it but I still have to ask you a question: Can you see the difference between standing outside the circle and absorbing a blow when the offensive player slams into you (thereby putting your body at risk) and just falling down when you are guarding the man with the ball and he backs into you a little bit? "Baiting" people into charging fouls by standing in their path and flopping like Manu Ginobilli and Reggie Evans are completely different things. One is macho while the other is sissy.
It's just part of a deliberate campaign by Yao and his agent to gain more street cred. Now all that's left is: 1) Getting a tattoo (may be something that's true AND offensive at the same time, something like, "you're all beneath me") AND 2) Spending some 'quality' time in Colorado...you know...for skiing and stuff.

Considering how much the NBA is trying to clean up the game and make it more family friendly that's a bluff Yao might lose. Yao is a cash cow but the Stern wants the NBA to get away from their gangsta image and has also been showing a lot of deference towards defending refs. It seems like anytime anyone in the league publicly says the refs made a bad call its an automatic fine, just ask JVG and Mark Cuban, so I would predict Yao cursing out the refs would lead to his ejection, fine, and likely suspension (although short). Stern has shown he will support the referees.
